There are a few things my friends and I have been arguing over. Hopefully someone can shed some truth on them to prove me right.
First of all, almost all of my friends claim that servitors steal energy from the other fallen. They probably think that because the fallen look like they're bowing down to Sepiks on the strike and you'd think a big boss would feed off of the minions. But I'm pretty sure it's the other way around, like how engineers shield the covenant in Halo. The intro dialogue even says "Feeding THEM their strength", not "Feeding OFF their strength."
Next, this one isn't just in our group, but a lot of randoms I play with think it this way too. You don't EAT the glimmer boosting consumables right? Even when I raid with randoms I always hear "One sec, gonna eat a black wax idol," or "Eat some polyphage for more glimmer," on gatekeepers. I'm not sure what we do with those, but I'm positive that you don't EAT them, right?
Last, this was just something I was curious about, but I saw some warlock armor that gave an extra grenade. Does that mean with the sunsinger perk, you can have 3 grenades?
TL;DR:
1) Fallen powers servitor or servitor powers fallen?
2) Black wax, ether seed, polyphage...Eat or no?
3) Armor perk + gift of sun = 3 nades?

I always thought it was a shield or a power boost

Edited by tedo the cheto: 3/11/2015 12:47:06 PM1. Servitors provide ether, their food. That are gods to the fallen. 2. You don't eat them. 3. No.

1. Servitor gives strength (also heals enemies in gameplay) 2. No eat, that would be, poisonous. And impossible, as you'd have to remove your helmet. The ghost scans it and uses it to do stuff. I don't have time to explain why I don't have time to explain. 3. And no, you can't, sadly. The perks don't stack.

I haven't noticed a power boost or loss by other fallen from servitors. But they do glow purple. I refer to them as glimmer cards i. e. "I need to pop a glimmer card", and assume the Ghost scans it and somehow makes magic glimmer shoot out of enemies. Lots of people nought Starfire Protocol hoping what you said about 3 grenades would be true.. Since it's a worthless exotic without giving 3, a lot of people were mad about wasting coins.

1-Sevitors give strength 2-No eat. Ghost does weird shit with it 3-no 3 nades
-
1. Servitor gives fallen strength 2. No eat 3. Only 2 nades max even with perks
-
1. Servitor powers fallen, notice their purple shields when servitor is there 2. Eat. 3. They don't stack.

Btw I made the poll just to see how many more people would pick goose.

Edited by Robin the Goblin: 3/11/2015 1:54:07 AM1. Not Sure 2. Black Wax Idol is Hive feces, do you really want to eat that? 3. No

Lol hahaha I couldn't stop laughing "hang on I need to eat some resupply codes"

1) Servitors create Ether, which is what sustain the fallens life. Gameplay-wise, the servitors can buff nearby allies. 2) There's nothing anywhere saying if it's eaten or not. If your pals want to interpret it that way, there's nothing that's actually denying that, but there's nothing pointing to it either. 3) No. The perk from the armor simply provides the gift of the sun perk when using the specific grenade. It does not stack.

Servitors boost fallen. They gain a glow. Starfire Protocol and gift of the sun do not stack.
