Dont get this twisted up, i am a Thorn owner, and lover. That being said, i think it sucks when you evade (or kill) an enemy. Then while you stand hoping to survive and regain sheild, your guardian dies from the lingering poison damage!
I apologize for my lack of gremmur skills goes to show how good universities are..

I'm lucky to have my thorn initial hit register let alone the dot. I hit them it does no damage but the dot still ticks, More important and immediate issues need addressing then one exotic needing an alteration which imo isn't needed at all. If thorn loses its dot then pulse rifles need nerfing 😉.
-
Make it so sitting down removes the dot.
-
2 RepliesThe gun is fine as it is... If I get hit with it then I try to evade behind cover and regen... If the DOT gets the better of me then so be it. I'd rather take my chances with DOT than being left a sitting duck because I can't move. Not referring to you here OP, but people need to stop looking for nerfs to solve their issues with various weapons and start buffing their own tactics against them..
-
4 RepliesI like the move slower feature. Lingering damage is the exact same thing as poisoned arrows. Cowardly. If you can't kill your target face to face, than you don't deserve to be there
-
It's awesome, wouldn't change it. That's kind of the point of the gun, it's a Thorn in your side.
-
should any exotic have it's exotic perk in PVP? answer: YES.
-
1 ReplyIf Bungie has to do something about Thorn (which they shouldn't) they should put it back to having a slow reload. I used it then, I used it now, and I'll keep using it.
-
It's the only way to counter the new best PvP weapon in the game, Red Death
-
2 RepliesThey should just remove thorn from the game. I'm so sick and tired of people crying about it. Seriously, take it out so everyone will shut up about it. Like a bunch of 3 year olds crying on the forums.
-
Yes, it should. That is Thorn's unique trademark ability. Removing it in PvP would be idiotic.
-
1 ReplyIt should but it shouldn't kill you in pvp, it should stop right before you die like in PvE against PvE enemies.
-
Hate being killed by thorn, love killing people with thorn. "That's it... Run and hide... You can't run from the poison in your soul!" -player dies- "Muhahahahahahahaha!"
-
I say do a type of game that takes R.E.A.L skill no specials, no exotics , no radar , no repond or maybe no regeneration of shield and life , just regular good old gun game and no I don't play cod I come from a R.E.A.L game called Socom 1 and 2 it took R.E.A.L skill and R.E.A.L team work and communication.
-
I think it's fine as it is.
-
Edited by Lord Fried: 3/10/2015 12:21:32 PMI've been killed by Thorn but it's mostly because the guy got the drop on me or just straight up outgunned me. The two headshot thing is for lucky and/or really good aimers. I've only died a handful of times from the actual poison.
-
I'm really tired of this getting discussed. I knew this was going to happen when Bungie fixed their stupid ass nerf and put Thorn on everyone's radar. "Thorn's perk kills people! So OP!"
-
7 RepliesARE YOU PEOPLE THICKHEADED?! MARK OF THE DEVOURER DEFINES THORN! WITHOUT IT, ITS MERELY A RARE HANDCANNON THAT TAKES UP AN EXOTIC SLOT! IF YOU DONT WANT TO DIE BY A THORN, THEN RUN AWAY! IF YOU GET INTO THAT CRUCIBLE, YOU SIGNED UP FOR GETTING -blam!-ED IN THE ASS BY THORN. SIMPLE!
-
3 RepliesI think it should because thorn is a two hit to the head, so it is no better than hawkmoon, but of course everyone will defend hawkmoon
-
2 RepliesHonestly, I just want it to decide on its element for the DoT already, if your gonna make the weapon itself Kinetic then make the DoT deal Void I mean, come on, the Void Damage part makes you assume it would take on some sort of Void qualities
-
It's being Exotic, stop crying.
-
I don't think they should remove it but the time it's dot lasts should be reduced. 1 shot and you're sitting out for like 4 minutes trying to regen shields.
-
It's the Thorns signature ability, why remove it?
-
Lingering damage is what makes it unique. They'd never take it off for crucible. All the little crybabies can just deal with it because there are still plently of other noob weapons in the crucible.
-
2 RepliesHell if you nerf Thorn you have to kill off Hawkmoon to
-
3 RepliesNobody said anything before the buff.......now just cause everyone is using it......
-
1 ReplySo if you vote No, then you're saying that "it should not not have lingering dmg?" #confuzzed
