What it means:
There are too many idiots who all crowd on one point trying to capture it. Then that crowd of idiots gets destroyed by one players super or heavy. I refuse to die with you morons. Instead I will get kills as I attempt to cover you idiots, or hopefully kill the guy that just blasted half the team on a single zone.
The critical point-the moral of the story-is this: Don't be that moron who dies with two to three others on a single point. Cover your buddies.

Two people to a zone are plenty. There should be someone in the back with a scout rifle or sniper rifle providing covering fire for them. I always thought this was common knowledge, but apparently I was mistaken. I feel your pain OP. Also who the -blam!- doesn't know that if you have C on Blind Watch you don't try to take A by now? Why do people still do that?

3 RepliesThe zone caps faster with more people in it. Caps control the spawns. Each person inside the zone when it caps gets 75 points (450 points for doing basically nothing). Yes there is a risk of getting group killed but it's actually pretty rare when you weigh it against the number of multi-kills people get from other parts of the map.

It is better to protect the people caping the zone from outside the zone. I oftern have the highest score without a single cap.

2 RepliesQuit your b1tching and play clash. Problem solved.
-
1 ReplyThe fundamental thing that everyone seems to forget when talking about control is this, you win by killing the other team. The best killers on the team should be killing non stop. People who can't handle themselves well should be ferried to the objectives then left alone.
-
12 RepliesSo why do you play control?
-
If bungie really wanted control to about CONTROL and strategy, They would increase the points gained from captures and maybe give bonus points the longer you held a zone. Because rght now, control is good simply for the fact that you know where people are to kill: a, b, c.
-
this isnt domination your points come from kills your points multiply by the amount of zones youre holding you could literally keep all zones uncaptured and it would be team deathmatch anyone who says cap the zones can go -blam!- themselves ive won with 1 zone capped so many times because the other team cant kill for shit
-
3 RepliesSo it's because others will cap it for you? Good god you're dumb.
-
3 RepliesWhen people pretend like the pvp is cod I lol so hard. The pvp sucks. There's no competitiveness to it. Stop trying.
-
2 RepliesCapture all the zones=win. If capture some zones=win then tryhard alert
-
5 RepliesAlso each person inside the capture zone gets 75 points. So you're boosting your teams points by having multiple people on the zone.
-
The more people you have on a cap, the faster it rolls over. The less time you have to get blasted by one person. Or, you know, you could spread out when your radar indicates someone is coming.

Playing control when : Iron banner and pvp of the day ( if boring moving to clash/rumble )
-
I don't like Control all that much anyways. To much like Domination in CoD. However I did enjoy Inferno Control. Since their wasn't any radar and zones capture way faster. Made it more about kills and being more strategic in how you play in the map you are currently playing. But as far as just normal Control tactics. I generally sit back and watch my team and try to keep my K/D positive. If my random team is at least half decent I feel this tends to help more than just running from capture point to capture point. Like some kinda zone capturing robot. And it's better to keep 2 zones max and defend them. Because then you know the enemy is likely to be coming from around the one zone they control. :)
-
Only need 3 at most on point, that's the fastest it'll get captured
-
My amature video of why!
-
More people on captures slightly quicker
-
Never need more than 2 people at a zone and an extra person behind it if they die.
-
5 Replies2 reasons : 1) More people = Point caps faster 2) Morepeople = More points for the cap Currently you are losing the team pionts and making it take longer to get the points Basically if you abandon the control point before its capped (and especially if there is no one incoming on the radar) then yous a BAAAAAADDD player.
-
1 ReplyThe more players, the faster the cap. However, if the radar lights up, people should spread out.
-
Heck MF ring yeah-zones just need one body others cover the access points eh
-
If you're really good then yea, run around and rack up kills and the not so good people can try and capture/hold zones. Why? Cause zones multiply your kill scores. I would only put the mediocre guys on zone duty. The guys like you i would have racking up points. I suck at pvp but i get where you're coming from, makes perfect sense
-
2 RepliesI agree 100% but if a zone is open and you run by it multiple times without capin' it then you are a bad player in my book.
-
go play skirmish or something else if you are not a control point player...I hate players like you
-
I just have 1 guy cap it and we cover and when it's about to be done we all rush it to get points
