I've had games where ppl use thorn even tho back in October/November nobody used it. I've been blasted by felwinters lie. I been unable to kill the opposition due to lag. I've been killed all kinds of ways by each different class. It's part of the game and there is a tactical solution to all of those except for lag. It's your job to counter attack with a method that works for you.
For example: if someone is using thorn, I just headshot them with hawkmoon. They usually drop before me and I survive the burn
If they are using shotguns. I equip and auto rifle and extra throwing knives. Them getting that close makes for an easy throw and the constant fire from an auto almost ensues they will die before they can get close enough.
Is everything full proof no of course not but I make due with the tools I have at my disposal.

Edited by DeluxeGemini: 3/9/2015 9:50:59 PMI never complained about pvp here but currently it feels terrible with poor balancing buffs/nerfs and horrible map designs. Weapons feel really lopsided to the point where having a rechargeable shield makes no difference. As much as I love my Last Word I have no idea why I'm getting 2 shotted by it from mid range. Hand cannons in general need to be toned down slightly in damage. Shotgun range gets nerfed but then you introduce Feliwinter Lie that completely goes against it. I feel like most of the maps promote close range battles. There is entirely too much geometry that stop any kind of mid-long range fire fights. Random boxes in the middle of hallways or stupid door ways that take time to open up. Do we really need that much cover? Flags for controls are insanely bad on some maps. Blind Watch imo is the worst offender. Spawns and lag are freaking atrocious. You have randoms that constantly flip spawns causing you or the opposition to spawn right next to the enemy. Twilight Gap and Asylum are by far the worst offenders and completely terrible for control maps. I can't count how many times as of late I've spawn infront of a golden gun or someone with heavy and die again. Red bar connections that take about 5 hand cannon bullets to the face and still shotgun melee you then die just seconds after. Red bar strafing has to be the worst thing in the game. All these problems make me never want to play pvp again. I feel like I'm a decent player and was raising my KD fairly easy. I don't even mind when I lose a gunfight to someone better at the game. I just run into these problems so much as of late that I'm just completely done with pvp.

The map design is really bad. This leads to nearly all maps being a Shotgun fest. No weapons needed nerf/buffing but the maps need to be larger and have areas for mid range battles. Most maps are currently to small and are CQC. It gets frustrating when you play 5 matches of rumble in a row and every single person in every single game is using a shotgun as a primary even though it's just been nerfed.

2 RepliesThey complain because they are "scrubs."

Johnny bravo

Because they suck

Edited by M pinball3: 3/9/2015 9:25:30 PMI don't get it either. I attribute my deaths to my fault not some gun. I'm actually kind of mad at all the people complaining about "OP" guns. Now I don't even use my Suros in pve anymore because it got nerfed so bad.

Only thing I complain about is lag any other game I'm green bar destiny constant red in pvp with ocasional yellow for a few minutes if it's green then something is horribly wrong lol

1 ReplyEdited by Commander B_rice: 3/9/2015 9:20:08 PMpvp would be better if there was NO heavy ammo and NO special ammo. primaries only. i would even go far as say cut out the special ability. at least have a game mode to cut it on or off. its frustrating because some classes have supers or abilities that are very difficult to counter and the advice of 'oh use your hawkmoon, or your mida-multi blah blah blah' ok everyone doesn't have these weapons so suggestions of using a particular weapon to counter go out the window. pvp should be about skill and slight of hand, not supers and heavy ammos.

4 RepliesBecause too many weapons are 1 shot

Because they suck at it

To many OHK weapons, grenades, and abilities in the crucible - it's not an equal exchange of fire where the Victor is the one with better aim - it's who gets the shot off first - and even then you die cause the other guy stuck you with a nade. I really enjoy crucible, but I still feel like special ammo should be limited to the amount of heavy and heavy should be limited to 1 drop per match

7 RepliesIf I had never played Destiny before and came to these forums to learn the ins an outs of PvP based on the comments posted on these forums I would never play it. This community is toxic. None more so than the PvP base. Nerf this and lookit my k/d and who's a scrub permeate these forums like a plague.

5 RepliesBecause the losses and poor performances feel very personal... ...and it's easier to whine in an effort to make the game easier that it is to adapt to the challenges.
-
7 RepliesIt's not about being killed by ABC Weapon or by XYZ Class/Super, for me. I'm just not terribly fond of PVP modes in most FPS games I've played. I was good in COD4: MW, but none of the others. Great in Halo 4, but none of the others. When I PVP, I enjoy it, as I'm usually playing with nothing, but a full fireteam of my friends, however. I don't go out of my way to become a pristine Crucible player. Crucible just isn't for me. When Iron Banner is around, I tend to enjoy it a lot more.

1 ReplyAs someone who also uses "Ph" and named Phil I just wanted to say I appreciate you.
-
3 RepliesBecause their view of their skill isn't rooted in objective reality. People tend to believe they are much better than they actually are, so when they're killed it's because the other player's weapon is OP, not because the other player is better. Hence endless nerf threads rather than people asking for advice on how to counter the weapons in question.

People who are butthurt About pvp are sore losers, Can't take the competition, or just don't know how to adjust to others' play style.
-
1 ReplyConnection issues and blinking shotgunners are pretty much the only things I complain about.
-
1 ReplyBecause they don't want to adapt.

1 ReplyHave you played PvP?

5 Replies"I'm better than you and don't need to worry about Thorn because I have the most OP handcannon in the game. And unless you use the same strategy as me then you'll suck, screw your fun, this is your JOB what'd you think this was a GAME or something?! Basically I'm better than you and you're scrubs" - OP, his own words, not mine.
-
3 RepliesIt's funny I can almost predict a user's stats based on their complaint. A user who says something is OP and cries for a nerf is usually a poor to average player Someone who says anyone using such and such tactic or weapon is a scrub, noob, no-skill, etc. is usually an average to good player who can't stomach the thought that someone's getting the better of them. Both groups share a common trait of being annoying whiners.

1 ReplyEdited by Ronin Tanuki: 3/9/2015 6:42:11 PMDoesn't complain about thorn b/c using hawkmoon. #mfw #smh Don't mean anything by it, but it's essentially like saying "I don't know why people drink coffee in the morning to wake up, I use five hour energy!"

1 ReplyCrucible is fun just play smart and you will be fine.People are bad because they play it like cod advance warfare which has a quick time to kill where as destiny is slower. You run around with a last word or thorn you counter with the distance of engagement with a badger ccl scout rifle if they try and shoulder charge or blink shotgun I'll double tap the invective. Blade dancer at me I'll just panic super back. Super simple stuff
-
4 RepliesThere are many things that sucks in pvp. But at the end its still fun to play. What pisses me: input lag on PS4 (you move your controller but the game recognizes your input after many miliseconds) player lag (red bars ftw) stupid matchmaking (solo players vs premade fireteams) unbalanced maps (blind watch spawn at A = lost game)

People are cry babies and dont know how to play pvp
