Not really. They could just say that the weapon becomes unusable. If you don't have the right DLC you can't use the blacksmith shader. Same logic.

People transferring over to xbox might get piss off because they dont have their hawkmoon.

Then they will have to make a choice- hawkmoon or Xbox.
