14 RepliesI run that part of the Raid for my weekly fire team. I also do it with my other character every week. So I have solo'd the beginning many many times. As a seasoned veteran at this, I can tell you a couple of things: 1. Keep moving. Sure, you're not moving when you kneel, which is fine. But if you are going to LET a thrall melee you so you can turn invisible, you need to make sure you aren't just stopping and letting them hit you - because there are probably 10 of them following you and they will all melee at the same time, meaning 10 simultaneous melees, or instant death. 2. Keep moving (again). Whenever you turn invisible, and the enemies see you do it, they will very likely attack the last place they saw you at. I don't think I have to explain why they do this... you would probably do the same thing if you were them. This however means that you can't just turn invisible and stay in the same spot. Even if you run directly forward or backward, you will just be running in the line of fire. You have to make sure you get out of the way of any incoming fire. 3. Keep moving (again, this is important). When letting a thrall hit you while waiting at a lamp, circle the lamp with a strafe. This will separate the thrall when they run into the lamp, and they will often miss with their melees, meaning you won't get hit by the collective. The goal is to get just one to melee you while you are still moving. It is also helpful to jump on top of the lamp (if your weight of darkness is down) before simply kneeling down on the ground while a bunch of thrall are right on your back. That way you can kneel on top of the lamp without worrying about them. 4. Contrary to what everyone else is saying on this thread, they can’t hear your footsteps or see your outline. The only thing they can sense is your double jump. Even this will not make them follow or attack you, they will simply stop and look at where the double jump took place. 5. This may be overkill, but make sure you have all the means necessary of turning invisible. This means 1) your super can turn you invis, 2) melee turns you invis, 3) crouching turns you invis, 4) getting melee’d turns you invis, 5) run with a Patience and Time in hand. Also, make sure to enable the stat “increases the duration of invisibility effects”.

4 RepliesEnemies will continue to attack the area where you were last seen, even after invisibility. For them following you, it's a very rare chance in their AI that they can see you when you're invisible
-
1 ReplyThey are already in the attack animation. Just move, and they will let up. You might take some hits, but you'll probably live
-
3 RepliesWat? Soooo because you turn invisible they should just stop swinging at the possible location you were just in? Do people stop and think before they type these things or what?
-
1 ReplyThere's two things. Once you're invisible you need to move or it's possible they'll still attack your "last known position" Also, if you're near your teammates and they're getting attacked, it doesn't matter if you're invisible.
-
The stabbing thrall are not the problem imo. They just hit the area they saw you last, so as soon as you go invis you need to move away immediately. What I have noticed and do find a problem is that exploding thrall will explode sometimes when you run past them while invis.

3 RepliesWhy can't you type the entire word?
-
Yeah. Even after I move, they follow me and attack. It sucks.
-
13 RepliesThey can hear you. Use more stealth
-
yea was with some guys last night same thing happened to him when we were at the bridge part
-
4 RepliesWhat's better is when your reviving a teammate while invisible and a reaver captain one swings you bc he's swinging at the teammates orb
-
Happened to me earlier. Never use to happen. Sometimes they follow me and still melee me and other times they follow me and wait until I lose invisibility and they start to melee

3 RepliesWhat about crota that loves to smash me after i get invis with blink strike??it doesn't happen very often, but when it does it's a wipe on hard mode
-
1 ReplyIt's funny when you do go invis after blink and they just keep following you after like "what up brah, what cha gonna do brah, lightswitch brah."
-
1 ReplyYeah. Very annoying.
-
They are already in motion
-
It's in their mechanics to atk your last known location. Don't just think you can stealth and move. Also there is a initial sound that comes when going stealth, which leads an enemy of your direction when stealth is activating(but not fully implemented due to the sound)

2 RepliesFor all you that think a 3-d animatronc can hear stick with your day job and for the one who thinks they can smell you should smell your tv and see if a thrall is -blam!- you and I KNOW I HAVE TOO MOVE what did u think i was standing there letting them -blam!- me and also for thrall hearing #HALF LIFE 3 CONFIRMED
-
4 RepliesIf you stay in the same place where they are swiping or if you stay in his beam wtf do you think is gonna happen. Jesus some people are retarded. All you have to do is move out of the way
-
1 ReplyThey hear when you jump or reload
-
Edited by Corrick II: 3/9/2015 8:35:05 PMTry not to run away in a straight line. They will follow the same attack trajectory, just dodge out of the way and run in a different direction for a short time, then continue on your way.
-
If they are already performing their attack-motion they will still hit you. Invisibility does not cancel an attack that has already started.
-
15 RepliesHeres an experiment for you. 1.go invisible out of site/ear range and walk past the enemy. 2. Repeat 1 and run/jump past instead of walking. 3. Go invisible in front of the enemy and walk away. 4. Repeat 3 and run/jump away instead of walking....
-
4 RepliesYour not invisible. There's an immediate outline over you for a reason. You can be seen, you can be smelled, you can be found if you do not get out of the area of danger quick enough because the thrall is still looking for with an intense hatred. With that said though, this sounds like the animation glitch where Crota would come through the doorway too so I'll thrown in my .02 and say they shouldn't be allowed to do that. With that said though, I've melee'd CE hard enemies, they flinched and I was NOT pursued. try and mitigate it happening OP.

3 RepliesYeah, they will try to attack where you last was. Its part of a logic mechanic. Think if someone went invisible and you had no idea where they were you wold randomly swipe where they last were.
