What would you say to Xur selling a slightly different version of your favorite exotic? That way people who buy still get an exotic but they are marked by something that sets their exotic apart from the RNG version. Not an inferior perk, just different. If you have the RNG version, you could use an exotic shard to add the Xur perk to your existing gun. I'm not on one side or the other. I specified that the tower version of the exotic would be different, not inferior. Basically to have a complete exotic, you would have to have gotten one via RNG, and one through the tower. If you get it through the tower and then find it in the wild, you can still combine them to make a whole one. I only used the term Xurned because people instantly recognize what I'm talking about, it's not meant to sound like an insult. The point is that the tower version can be the "A" piece, and the RNG version can be the "B" piece, and in order for the weapon to attain its ultimate form you have to have both. Then maybe you take it to the gunsmith with something special from Xur or the gunsmith himself, you give him the pieces, and presto. Maybe instead of gold it's a platinum or something. This way if everyone wants a true exotic, everyone MUST buy from Xur. I think this would create balance. EDIT: PLEASE read the idea before posting a half cocked insult on how I should fornicate with a random farm animal. This was just an idea to eliminate the hate between people who feel that aquiring an exotic via RNG is superior to buying it from Xur. They are not. They are the same. I just had an idea about how not only would everyone HAVE to buy from Xur to aquire an exotic, but exotics would also become exotic again. Two birds, one stone. The answer to all your prayers.
