Is Gjallerhorn Truly the Rarest Weapon?
According to poles I've seen, Gjallarhorn isn't very rare. 60 per cent of people had the horn, or at least 60 per cent of people who answered the pole. So is it rare? Is something rarer than it?
Edit: Rarest exotic. If we wanted to say rarest gun in the game I would say guns like Cryptic Dragon, since they aren't in circulation anymore.
I'm gathering that Thunderlord and Hard Light are the rarest. What about Truth? Or MIDA? High demand doesn't mean highest rarity. If no one had No Land Beyond but no one complained about not having it, would it be rare?
Edit: Here's something that's rare: 365 damage guns. They're in the game. Hunt them.

Got my first gjallarhorn from gorgon chest yesterday. Ironically I got 3 hardlight in 2 hour span a few weeks back. Two in the same normal crota raid (death singer then crota) and the third from a nightfall when the reset happened right after. Still need Red death Suros Truth Mida

Rarity at this point has more to do if/when Xur sold it (big reason why so many don't have it at this point), exception being Mythoclast which is hard raid specific. Does it drop less than other exotics, to my knowledge no (exotics don't appear to be weighted so each has an equal chance of dropping when Exotic is generated), but it is more sought after and as such more attention is focused on it inflating the perception that it's very rare.

2 RepliesJust the most sought after, and the fastest boss killer. People say it's a crutch, I say it's at least 5 minutes of my life I get back when I kill a boss, versus virtually any other weapon. I have pretty much any exotic I want, and have had at least 5 Gally's drop, but there's some weapons that just won't drop for some people. I have never had Hard Light or Suros, yet nearly everyone has these. The game is just weird like that.

I have Thunderlord, but it's definitely rare. Hard light and it are rare because they haven't been sold.

Three Gjallarhorns for me, all dropped in the last month, but no Suros, Red Death, Mida or Hard Light. Been playing since day one. *shrugs shoulders* Go figure.

need to clarify exotic or purple. some purple guns are extremely rare and some can not be had anymore. for exotics red death is rare, thunderlord is rare no land beyond is rare {just kidding}

I've gotten every single exotic more than once except for the following: Suros - 1 time. Bought from xur. Hard light - 1 time. Dropped from roc strike. Gjallarhorn - 0 times.

id say thunderlord... ive got 2 jellyorns but they came last week and week before... and ive been playing since day one. so thats pretty rare to me. got 2 hardlights, countless midas(favortie weapon by far)
