Got booted from crota for having a Mida Tool
I joined a group of randoms for a fresh start on CE. I was running with my blade dancer. Everything was going just fine at the lamps until I started pulling ahead of everyone. They told me slow down because I was getting to every lamp before everyone else despite stopping and waiting for other to catch up.
I was asked how I was going so fast and I said brought up that I had the Mida tool and it gave me a significant agility boost. I heard one guy say "boot this scrub for cheating through the lamps instead of being a team player"
Then I got kicked. Seriously? Lamps can easily be solo'd. Sorry for trying to make getting rewards easier.
EDIT: let me make this clear. On 2 occasions, I waited in the darkness without activating anymore lamps until they caught up. It's the fact that I didn't stay with them. This was also on normal and everyone was 31+
EDIT 2: For those of you say that the group wanted to enjoy doing the raid, I can almost guarantee they cheesed the bridge. 10/10 times when I do the raid, it never fails that someone asks if we're cheesing it. And since I usually play as a warlock it's almost always 5 to 1 (1 being me) that the fire team wants to cheese.

6 RepliesWhy waste your exotic slot on mida? Icebreaker in the abyss all the way. How's mida going to help your team? W icebreaker you can run ahead, stop a few feet from the lamp, and then blow the pack of thrall that are chasing your teammates to bits. One shot is all it takes. Icebreaker also has agility boost. I would boot you as well!

As long as you weren't activating the lamps before everyone had a chance to catch up you weren't doing anything wrong. It drives me nuts when people do that and screws everyone else and gets them killed only for the rusher to end up dying before he even gets to the end. I'm pretty sure you specifically said that you were waiting before activating the lamps though so yeah....just morons.

To me this is bullshit. If you run as a pack it makes it a hell of a lot harder than if you have a hunter or two up front while the rest attract the hordes behind. Enjoying the raid? Psh, that's a load of crap. They must have either really sucked or were all Titans. We always run out together and slowly the better faster guys start running ahead. It's still all a team job whether you are heading balls to the wall to the end or taking care of business so they can do so.

I run MIDA on occasion as well, makes it way easier. You walk significantly fast even with x10. That group was just baby cakes. I wouldn't mind if someone pushes on ahead, the faster we can beat the Abyss the better :)

Screw them. With bladedancer, don't touch me, and mida the abyss is easy. I usually go up ahead maybe 3-4 lamps then my group starts after (with weight at 10) then I skip a few lamps to give them a chance to recharge. That group you were in just happened to be douches.

Wow shows you how many shite players their are on this game that need a full fireteam to pull them through as they are incapable for doing certain parts of the raid for themselves!!

Do the lamps by yourself then lfg for bridge. Don't play with bad kids.

I don't mind if someone wants to run ahead and solo the lamps (and they will be solo once everyone else is at x10 weight)... However, you'd better be able to solo it if you're gonna pull that. I hate wiping over and over again because someone runs ahead but isn't able to finish it. Usually we just let a hunter solo it and there's no problem. The mida and don't touch me gauntlets make it fairly easy even on hard.

1 Replythey booted you for not being a team player. regardless of you being able to solo the lamps, the team was running through as a team. you should have stuck with them and helped out not ran ahead. since they were all high enough level to make it, you should have stuck with them. now i can see your point in being able to solo it. however there needs to be a majority vote if the team goes or someone solos it. you were not in that majority.

3 RepliesWhen we do normal raid we have a no man left behind policy. You're not being a good teammate if you're activating all the lamps ahead of your team. Maybe you should have listened to what the group wanted.

Easier for one person to get to end and team to catch up in case the person at the end fails. Also recently used mida and really liked it.

They shouldn't have kicked you. At the same time, though, I play online with my father in law and we both hate it when some showoff runs way ahead in strikes. We had some idiot titan do that last night on phogoth and he set off the fight before we even got there. A perfect, no death run was ruined by the doorway shrieker and this dumbass pulling a swarm of enemies back to us because he couldn't handle it. Multiplayer is about teamwork, try it sometime.

It's the way the other members acted that I don't play this raid with people I don't know. 99% of the time my friends know to just let me do the abyss on both hard and normal. Mostly they just let me go ahead and then try to walk it as a group.

I'll stick with my ice breaker for the lamps. It can kills groups in seconds and the agility boost is a huge help.
