Confused about getting to level 30
Do I have to join a faction to buy legendary gear or can I just stick with the vanguard? I seem to be only getting gear worse than the gear I have and am stuck at level 24...should I just not worry about it and get to vanguard level 3 so I can buy her gear? Or should I just wear that dead orbit arm band and rank them up because maybe that's faster. I don't know.. I'm new and addicted and I hate that lol

Vanguard marks and rep for gear for sure and keep doing strikes for awards and possible legendary gear. A exotic piece from Xur will help a lot. Start doing raids as soon as you are able to for better gear. As soon as you reach 30, star doing Crotas End for raid gear. I youtubed ways to do it solo, you can get Leg armor and Gauntlets pretty quick that will bump you up to 31 atleast. But just keep pounding out those strikes.

5 RepliesStick with vanguard and grind lvl 24 strikes then buy vanguard gear which will have 33 light. Get an exotic piece from Xur too if u have enough coins.

It is easier to get vanguard gear than faction gear if you hate crucible. You will need crucible marks to buy gear from them instead of vanguard marks. In order to by legendary helmets and chest plates, you will need to get comandations which you get by leveling your rank. There is also a chance of getting legendary gear from leveling your rank.

7 RepliesYou can still level up. It'll just take forever. Levelling slows drastically beyond 20, which is why they have armor with light levels. The gear you can get from raids are supposed to be top notch and can help you level faster.

I was stuck at 24 for a long time and couldn't get anywhere for about 2 weeks. Even with my DO mark I just couldn't figure out what to do. Basically started leveling up my DO and gaining crucible marks to buy DO armor and did some strikes to earn coins and finally got some exotic armor from xur. I'm at 28 and in the brink of 29 if I can level up the armor I have. Still need a legendary or better helmet though. Just getting stuck at the rare items is hard and you can't count on rng drops to give you the items you want. Leveling up faction every time over level 2 or leveling crypt arch will net you packages at the postmaster and many times it'll be the legendary items you are looking for.
