Day One Entitlement

I'm seeing a new trend here on the forums where people are throwing around their "Day One Player" status like they're entitled to weapons. I'm a Day One player. It took me until the most recent time Xür had it again to get Icebreaker. Remember when Day One players were bitching about Icebreaker? Me too. And now the latest fad is Gjallarhorn. Day One players feel entitled to one since they bought the game at launch and played it since, instead of other, new players obtaining it through drop. I've seen players get Gally from Crota and Nightfall and etcetera. Not even mad. Icebreaker, I at least understood part of it, it restocks free over time and makes bad guys explode. Cool. But Gally is just pure power, which you really don't need all the time. As much as people hate to say, Destiny does require a degree of finesse sometimes. If finesse to the Icebreaker is the scalpel, Gally has the finesse of a sledgehammer. Of course, this is all opinion based here. But back to the main topic here, Day One players shouldn't try to entitle themselves to a gun in a video game and get so mad they'd kill a family of 4 with a copy of Destiny and threaten to never play again. Day One seniority isn't a thing. It's cool to get a little pissed sometimes when you've done the raids and nightfall on all 3 of your characters, of course, but don't try using Day One like your a minority being harassed and pulling the race card. The game is (while kind of bare bone) part RPG, and with that comes a lot of grinding and doing the same shit over and over to get what you want. mic drop

You get to choose how much weight you grant these actions that seem to disturb you so much. Changing the way you react is a far more realistic solution than thinking a thread on the forums will change the way the e-peen warrior crowd is constantly trying to find a made up reason they are better than each another in their minds. In fact, threads like this fuel the delusions of grandeur as they can see they have gotten under your skin. #justsayin' #choosewisely
