You have over 600 hours played. You claim the game is shallow, but your dedication to the game does not reflect that. Your argument has been rendered null and void.

  • Addictive and shallow are not identical terms

  • A sane person wouldn't waste 600 hours on a shallow game.

  • Again, you are clearly misunderstanding what is meant by shallow. You can love a game and still point out its numerous flaws

I'm not misunderstanding anything. By labeling it a "shallow" game, it implies the content is lacking. However, the OP has registered over 600 hours of gameplay, implying that, in fact, there are over 600 hours of content, nullifying the "shallow" label. And stop talking about the story, it's a moot point. It took Bungie a decade to fully develop the Halo story we love today, with a lot of backstory being delivered in novels. The story in Halo: CE was pretty bad (running from an unknown enemy, from an unknown battle, to an unknown planet to retrieve an unknown relic with zero explanation) and wasn't fleshed out until the first novel and Halo 2. Do you honestly expect Bungie to blow the load of their decade long project in the first entry? Are you dense?

  • No, I agree with OP. The game is very shallow, but manipulative and addictive; it's hard to put down, but ultimately unsatisfying.

  • Lol @ being physically addicted to Destiny. Get a life, seriously. If you can't pull yourself away from Destiny and admit that you don't enjoy your time playing, you need to seek professional help. No telling what other aspects of your life are completely -blam!-ed if this is what video games do to you.

  • You're pretty ignorant. The game is still minimally fun, it's not unplayable, but it's addictive in the way that gambling is addictive. That's different from being physically addictive, but the metaphor still applies. Moreover, the game is less interesting and less fun than Bungie's previous efforts; it's mediocre.

  • You are comparing the first entry into the Destiny franchise to the entirety of the Halo franchise. You lack the basic understanding to continue this discussion. And lol @ being addicted to gambling/video games. Get some -blam!-ing willpower, for god sake.

You're retarded! The Halo Reach Sandbox had; Assault Rifles DMRs Magnums Grenade Launchers Sniper Rifles Rocket Launchers Spartan Lasers Plasma Pistols Plasma Rifles Needle Rifles Needlers Plasma Launchers Gravity Hammers Beam Rifles Energy Swords Concussion Rifles Plasma Repeaters Spikers Fuel Rod Cannons Machine Gun Turrets Plasma Turrets Plasma grenades Frag grenades Sprint Modules Jetpacks Holograms Bubble Shields Armor Lock Active Camo Overshields Falcons Warthogs Rocket Hogs Mongooses Ghosts Revenants Wraiths Scorpion Tanks Trucks Banshees Starships Those were each unique elements that had their own individual gameplay mechanics The Destiny Sandbox has; High Stability Auto Rifles High Rate of Fire Auto Rifles Scout Rifles Pulse Rifles Pistols Shotguns Snipers Fusion Rifles Rocket Launcher's Machine Guns Exotics for each weapon archetype Class Locked grenades and Supers Sparrows Interceptors Pikes The Destiny sandbox is tiny and restrictive comparatively! Moreover, Halo Reach had a compelling campaign, robust custom games, firefight, and forge; Destiny missing those things is hugely significant. Also shut the -blam!- up; I never said I'm addicted to Destiny, I said it was addictive by design. Destiny and other videogames are a moderate part of my life. Personally I only play Destiny because my friends play it and there's nothing else interesting on the market at the moment; and those are good enough reasons. The game is lackluster, bland, and a step backwards in many respects, but it's still a game. You're -blam!-ing stupid

Halo Reach was the culmination of everything Bungie had done over the decade with the game, tools and architecture. Destiny is a new game with a new engine on new architecture, compare it to Halo: CE on the original XBox. You don't have the mental capacity to understand this point, though.

  • It feels like you're getting angry about nothing. I'm not saying it is a bad game, just a shallow one. CoD is shallow in that your goal is point and shoot, that doesn't mean I find it boring. Claiming that Destiny isn't shallow is ridiculous, especially when it's contrasted to Halo, or even its own Grimoire. Nobody is claiming you have to dislike the game, just that it isn't particularly deep.

Even Halo CE had a more interesting sandbox. It's a better game overall. Destiny also could have been an interesting, though still flawed, game if the disc locked content had been avaliable to play at launch, but your IQ is just too minuscule to recognize how much a -blam!-ing invalid you are.
