Back in the day when everyone said you "earned" your gear because Xur started selling good shit and all the special Snowflakes had to protect their snowflakiness. But as time went by those same Snowflakes couldn't get their sought-after gear via rng so they were forced to become the very Xurners they once trashed. Then suddenly "nothing is earned" became the new slogan to save egos. Now nobody in the forums is allowed to say "earned". That change is ironic and hilarious to me when I look back at it. Sometimes I search for those old "Xurner vs Earner" posts and chuckle.
