I purchased "blessings of the skeptic" from the speaker last week, since then I've dropped the gally from VOG exotic chest, the vex from Atheon, and the 4th horseman from nightfall. I'm guessing it's just a coincidence, but im keeping mine on just incase. i consider it my good lucky charm nonetheless.
