I dont why you "pve people" care so mush for weapon balance i like a lot more pvp than this short and easy pve but i still killing crota in hard every week with my friends just for fun to the point that now i has 3 character with gear. i dont feel any change in weapons doing pve i still clearing all contend using my vanquisher i still using abyss defiant, i still loving my timur's lash and all my HC in pve. You guys are crying just because you want to cry you want to say that this game is a pve base game but the true is most of the "pvp players" also clear the game content every week

  • I used the Weapons thing as a reference to the SHIFTS in their rhetoric and changes made to the game. While it sucks that they can't be smart about weapons and just make 2 rule sets, one for PvE, and one for PvP, its only one point in many that myself and others have made that indicate a much stronger devotion to supporting the PvP aspect of this game as opposed to the PvE aspect (which this game is supposed to be focused on). There has been a consistent presence of the PvP event, barely a mention of any PvE events. There has been numerous PvE bugs identified, many left untouched, others took MONTHS to fix and aren't even completely fixed. There has been several adjustments made to weapons and PvP based things, and they are made relatively quickly. For spitting off how complicated it is to fix a heavy ammo bug, or adjust a weapon for PvE uses... It seems counter to their argument that it can so easily and quickly be done for PvP.

  • They've said time and time again they don't want the weapons to feel different between two modes. Now, for everything but impact, that makes sense. Wouldn't it be annoying to be able to casually sniper with your Thorn in PvE.. but cannot do the exact same in PvP? To be honest the Auto Rifle Nerf could have been balanced out, they have mechanics to change the damage between modes (like how shotguns do double damage against Non-guardians), and changed it so only PvP feels the impact nerf, not PvE (where the nerf wasn't needed). Adjusting weapons stats.. is a far easier task than fixing bugs. To change a stat, it takes longer to boot up a computer than it does to... say change an AR so each bullet is a 1-shot-kill. The longest part of of tuning weapons is playtesting. -- Bugs... like the heavy ammo, they had to rearrange code, they had to explore what impacts that could have before they implement the change, a seemingly minor change here can basically cause the game to fatally crash, sometimes it's highly likely that they don't even know the source of the bug, which can make it take all the longer. Now, they haven't been noteably addressing all the bugs, probably because most of the team is working on Destiny 2 and upcoming DLC. But it is not fair to compare rebalancing to debugging. debugging can be any programmer's nightmare, and the bigger the project/problem, the more daunting the task.

  • I think the problem basically stems from game design, you expect a completely different feel from a PvE driven experience than from a PvP driven experience. In PvE you expect that super awesome gun you spent countless hours grinding to get and then several more hours upgrading to feel powerful, fun and unique. Since they are tuning everything to be 'balanced' what you actually end up with is a weapon that kills something 1% faster because they can't make anything that strong or unique due to PvP. Also the scale of distances is completely different between PvP and PvE. Most things are shorter range in PvP, and so so when you create a medium ranged weapon for PvP, it is really a short ranged weapon for PvE. Nerfing the range of weapons, sorely limits the usefulness of weapons, and since the amount of weapons you can have is limited to CoD esq shooter amounts (3), you can't just easily switch to a close range weapon in close quarters and a farther range weapon for further distances.
