PVP wise... Pros: 1: Damage is dealt in an area. Meaning, you don't necessarily have to hit something dead on to deal damage. Example: If someone is sitting around a corner outside if your line of sight, shooting the ground around their feet will damage them. But not as much as it would if you hit them dead on, 2: The AoE (area of effect) damage does not decrease overall damage, rather, it spreads it out. You can damage a crowd of enemies with every shot. 3: Explosive rounds are easy to hit targets with because of their nature, and are well suited to Scout Rifles in close quarters because of this. 4: Every round staggers a target, makes their screen shake and flash, and causes their controller to vibrate violently, making Scout Rifles with explosive rounds deadly in one-on-one battles. Cons: 1: Precision kills are difficult to get, because only a portion of the damage counts as precision damage, lessening the damage itself. It's easy to off someone with the non-precision portion, as well. 2: Explosive rounds tend to be less effective at long range, where precision damage tends to dampen, depending on the weapon you're using. 3: Explosive rounds aren't very well suited to hand cannons post-patch, because of their range reduction. 4: Though they generally reduce your opponent's TTK, yours is reduced as well due to half of your precision damage counting as normal damage. Your TTK reduction factor is absolute. Theirs is not; they may make their shots anyways. Any questions?
