The mobile vault is in the works, and Bungie is still working on getting some of the kinks it has in it worked out.
I'd suggest to refrain from using the mobile or website vault until the next patch or update to the app, website, and Destiny.
Unfortunately, Bungie does not return these items lost to the darkness or void or wherever they may go.
This has to be the twentieth time I've said this, at least.
