Just curious. Please feel free to say why, or what draws you to that ideology. As well as help me iron out what each party stands for.
Typical stances for each
Republican-
-pro gun
-pro life
-pro military
-small government
-skeptical of science
-Christian
-against gay marriage
Democrat
-anti gun
-pro choice
-big government and entitlement programs
-anti military action
-agnostic
-supports gay marriage
Libertarian
seek to maximize autonomy and freedom of choice, emphasizing political freedom, voluntary association and the primacy of individual judgment.
Humanism
philosophical and ethical stance that emphasizes the value and agency of human beings, individually and collectively, and generally prefers critical thinking and evidence (rationalism, empiricism) over established doctrine or faith
Socialism
social and economic system characterised by social ownership of the means of production and co-operative management of the economy, as well as a political theory and movement that aims at the establishment of such a system.
Communism
socioeconomic system structured upon the common ownership of the means of production and characterized by the absence of social classes, money, and the state; as well as a social, political and economic ideology and movement that aims to establish this social order
I personally identify with humanism
But also:
-Pro-gun
-I think abortion should be more restricted, but not outright illegal
-for gay marriage. Its not gonna hurt anything
-separation of church and state
-I think government spending should be on these things, in order from most money to least
-education. Revamp the the k-12 curriculum and make college free
-infrastructure improvement, this includes spending for implementing new energy source
-government agencies, i.e. NASA, u.s. forest service, park service, etc. But some consolidation of responsibility is necessary, some agencies overlap a little too much
-military spending
-social entitlement programs
Just a rough outline and those are no way set in stone and can easily be moved around
-taxes should be a flat percentage for all, and no loop holes and tax havens for the rich or big corporations.
-healthcare, each state should be assisted in implementing its own free health care system.
-no more government spending on special interest lobbyist projects
-less money in politics is a good thing
-Restrict all public offices to no more than 3 or 4 terms . Politician shouldn't be a career.
Also a step up in position is fine, but you can't just bounce around laterally, or take a step down to a lower job, like senator to mayor.
-welfare, unemployment, etc should have a limit and require drug tests.
