On that note, my cars from 2013, do I have to wait for it to heat up, or is it ok to just turn it on and drive?
Edit: I was waiting for a class to begin, i wasn't asking if I have to leave it running for 45 min to hear it up lol

You can, but that would be wasting gas.

Edited by LeMay yo: 3/3/2015 6:29:04 PMNewer cars like that you only need to wait a few minutes. The interior might not be warm but the engine has cycled and is ready Edit: That was meant if you live in a place like me where it is less than 20 degrees

10min at most.. Idle time

1) driving for 5 minutes at low rpm is better/more-effective than idling for 45 minutes. 2) pretty much any post 1995 fuel-injected vehicle can (unless its busted) be driven right away without warmup 3) Keep your car under 2200 rpm for the first 5-10 minutes 4) Don't let your car get stolen 5) gas is expensive, so you don't want to idle that long. 6) if you are really worried about it, then buy a block heater, they are not expensive.

It may get stolen, run out of gas, or if in a garage or other enclosed space kill you. But other than that it shouldn't be a problem.

most modern cars can be turned on and driven. With that said, take the first 5-10 minutes slow in freezing temperatures.
