Never seen a legendary engram drop!?
So Im level 30 and Im still yet to see a Legendary engram drop during PVE. Whats the deal!?
When I say drop I mean from an enemy, not as a reward :)

Got 1 yesterday doing weekly, it was 2 shards....

Only ever seen one like this once and I got the crucible chest from it

Had one drop today on patrol, exact same place as my last one. Got solar MG18.

I cannot really complain about that. Today alone while doing the Weekly Heroic I got 2. Later I got another 2 doing bounties. I believe in total I got 10-12 legendary drops. I was even luckier getting Exotic items out of them during decryption (Thunderlord, Obsidian Mind). I wish my luck was so good during strikes. I am still dreaming about Gjallarhorn, Fatebringer... Keep trying and remember to switch weapons constantly. During PVE, use different Primary, Secondary and Heavy weapons. I do have an impression this has helped me. For example, today I was switching from a Pulse Rifle I got from a Strike to a Handcannon and a Scout Rifle. When I switched back to the Pulse Rifle the purple engram popped out of a Vandal. Keep trying. Good luck!

I got 2. A legendary engram, (class item) was my first, and then I got a legendary primary engram from my first weekly. Sorry bud your luck ain't good tho.

I got 2 today doing my eris bounty. Dropped on fist of crota in same room lol.

Im guesstimating that ive seen 15 purple engram drops since ive started playing on day 1.

1 ReplyDo vanguard roc. They drop all of the time for me. Usually 1 every 4 or 5 strikes.

Had two today one leg engram on Venus first three kills where you can farm and one blue engram turned into leg heavy wep plus exotic bounty tolands for bad juju pulse gotta do 25 strikes gulp.

It's random so you need to have some luck, I found only one and it turned out in shards :'(

I have had a few drop... I have also pulled one from a chest on Mars.

Just play vanguard ROC strikes a few times and you should get at least one. I once got 4 legendary engrams in a row by doing that. And one of those engrams turned into s Gjallarhorn ;)

Had a legendary engram drop for me on a level 12 summoning pits run. It was the first one ever since I started playing Destiny in September.

It happens so rarely now that when it does I sit and stare at the pretty purple piece of candy for a minute before finally picking it up.

Had two drop last week between the resets during various activities. Had one drop during a public event and another during a moon bounty.

Been playing since beta. Have only received/found 7 legendary engrams counting rewards and drops.

Thanks for the replies, didn't expect so many :)...I may be unlucky with getting purple engrams but I have been lucky enough to get some purples from blues ;)
