Why would I break down my raid weeps/exotics/greatly rolled legendary? I already have 800+ shards/energies and 150+ radiant shards and energies
There are 18 raid legs, and 24 exotics that I have all maxed
7 iron banner weeps ( all diff )
The queens wrath sniper (can't get anymore currently)
And then 10-15 greatly rolled vanguard/faction weapons
Why would I break those down when I played my ass off to get them in the first place...and most are still great in diff situations and for PvP after nerfs/buffs happen

They become obsolete

None of the vog weapons, crota weapons or exotics are obsolete. Especially with how often weapon patched happen, it's stupid to scrap guns. If you have all exotics and all Raid weapons like a lot of people have, then you're out of space. And trust us vets, you use all your guns. Different burns, different pvp maps, etc. You're still new to the game, you'll regret sharding a legendary soon enough.

I shard exotics too! With how often thins change. It seems better off to just scrap the past and adopt the new thing.. Much faster
