They left everything hanging; they didnt keep the couple together; they never showed her homeland; they never showed any of her "relatives"; they didnt conclude the connection with the wheat he brought with... etc.
Usually when a story decides to end with one of those irritating endings where they leave things hanging and unknown, they do it in a very poetic way with a number of borderline definitive clues to lead to more than one conclusion. In this case though, they failed to do that.
Anyways, thats just my opinion of course.

Yes, that is correct. I was just judging the Anime. Is the Manga a lot more complete? Different ending?

Well it is the same storyline about. It's just shorter in the anime because it is incomplete and you shouldn't judge something you haven't completed.
