Hey there,
As the Xbox One suspends inactive titles, you will have to relaunch Destiny anytime you put the console in sleep or suspend mode. In the future, you may need to exit Destiny completely before suspending the console.

Yeah, and how do you do that? The only option available are change character or profile. How do you shut the game down entirely without unplugging the system?

On the Xbox home menu, all you need to do is push the start button, which should bring up a menu in which you can select "close game" or something along the lines of that. Hope this helps!
