Does it annoy anyone else when friends of friends/randoms to you, join your fireteam? If they're invited, fair enough. Or if your friend let's you know he has more people with him. It winds me up when people just decide to join and I hate kicking people, but in this scenario, I'll make an exception, lol. If I see a friend is doing a raid and there's 5 of them, I'll message to see if they need a 6th. What if they are going for flawless raider? What if someone got disconnected? I just think it's polite to ask and not assume you are welcome to join, lol.

Edited by Lull9: 3/3/2015 7:59:07 PMTakes way too long and too much effort to message back and forth and maybe they finish in the meantime. Easier to just join and they can kick you if it's a problem. I usually remove people from my friends list if they have a problem with it anyway. I don't mind people joining on me pretty much whenever, it's nice to trade favors and get stuff done faster sometimes. There was one guy that starting joining on the lvl 30 daily everyday as a lvl 28. That got old and he eventually got kicked though.

I don't mind at all. Though sometimes I forget to set to invite only and feel bad for them. Yesterday, I was practicing trying to solo hard bridge. Someone joined up and tried to help, but just ended up being a waste of their time. I need some more practice.
-
Same here. Yesterday my fireteam is about to start the raid, one player needed to switch out a character and in comes in this random. We're like "what the heck, who the heck is this guy??" Turns out to be a friend of a fireteam member, I had had to tell to walk because we have a full team. But really, you should ask first.

I feel the same. BUT not even 10 min ago, i decided to run ROC, i ended up the sepiks strike and sepiks had a cünt hair of health left, boom rocket. I was the only one to get a legendary engram.

Kick all ransoms that are not invited no exceptions
-
we were 5 manning hard crota and on the third sword a randoms "friend" joined in. He literally did nothing but watch, and when we finished he got the Crux, Thunderlord, and the Fang.... He accomplished what took me a month to do in less than 3 mins....
-
Yeah I always send a message and ask if I can hang or help. I never just assume.
-
When I forget to set my Fireteam to Invite there's always one who thinks they can just join mid way in a Nightfall. I kick them, even if they are a friend.
-
There is a setting for theses things ya know
-
Dude you can always set your fireteam's privacy to "invite only" . Be smart , yea ?

Edited by Wolf Pwnz Noobs: 3/2/2015 8:45:51 PM*Random joins a random* *Random complains and asks why this happens on the forums instead of asking that person* *Random should feel foolish right now* *Random should feel extra foolish for not setting his fireteam set-up to "invite only"*

I have a few friends I play regular with, its not an issue if they pop in sure. But then I have a list of other friends I play less regular with, and a few randoms I've picked up in raids. And thats the worst, I'll be in a raid (soloing lamps or practising something, hoping to flawless soon) and these randoms see I'm in there and just join. I've got no problem most of the time if people ask, but why just invite yourself in? I find that rude. I'm the same in RL to be honest, if people want to come round my house then call me first. If I'm not expecting anyone I don't even answer the door most of the time!

invitation only? sorted.

Most everybody is in a party chat. Why not pop into party chat and ask what they are up to and if they need an extra. All the confusion done with that one gesture. Just a thought. When it comes to randoms joining my fireteam, I say the more, the merrier. If you are going for a flawless or something like that, change your firetream to invite only and it will also end confusion. my .02.

Raids I understand that it would be rude. But for nightfalls or heroics anyone is welcome. We are two manning it anyway why not add more dps
-
It's the mfrs who wait for your timer and (consistently) join at the end of a nightfall I kick. True scrubs
-
Totally agree OP
-
Certain friends have my permission to do this. I solo nightfalls but if one of these exceptions wants or needs in, then they can just join. Most of the time they are polite and ask or invite me to a party before doing so. In raids though I make it invite only. If someone joins, it's someone's fault or I knew about it. Typically I won't kick unless the random stole the spot or is too low leveled (I'm talking 29s and sometimes 30s with terrible gear).

Edited by CityWide 74: 3/3/2015 1:14:33 PMI agree with you totally.. I will not hesitate to kick someone.. how hard is it for them to ask if I or we need help? just because your house or you car is unlocked doesn't mean you would like me to come inside and hang out... or does it? lol
-
I kick every one who joins my raids without asking I've had flawless raider messed up like 5 times because someone joined and friends that lag out and someone joins that won't leave when there friend is lead and won't kick them it's annoying
-
If they don't join the chat to ask first that's when they get the boot most of the time.
-
If they are on my friends list, they can stay. If they are not on my friends list, bye bye
-
i hate when ive said to a few pals aww im gonna go solo this and they join so i kick and msg sayin to them then they join....join....join....join its like take a hint

Edited by Barbatos: 3/2/2015 5:03:09 PMOne problem for me is when I put together an lfg team for nightfall. I only get one person to join and we then proceed into the strike, A short while later his friend joins unannounced and doesn't say anything to me. Not necessarily a bad thing, the more the merrier. It becomes a problem when they decide to leave and go do nightfall by themselves or with another friend, and I'm back to being solo. Another time that it's a problem is when randoms join me in the Tower. I often have my fireteam status set to public in case other high level players wish to team up while I'm on patrol or doing a strike/mission and haven't entered the darkness zone yet. When I go back to the Tower, I forget to change my status and low levels would join unannounced. Not a problem and it's my fault for not changing my status. However, it becomes a problem when they don't say anything or send a message, I go afk for a bit and they join me without realizing I'm not there, or I load up a hard activity.

Doesn't bother me, one of my friends helped me and my friends finish crota yesterday.
