Got a Legendary Engram that dropped from those dudes that hang out in the Cosmodrome just down the road on the left from where you spawn.
It turned into The Culling, which is now my favorite weapon.
It does Void damage and has a super high rate of fire, combined with a 75 round mag that doubles to 150 with Field Scout. Or I can keep the base ammo count and use it with Perfect Balance (when it already has Counterbalance) and it turns in a deadly accurate bullet hose. With my current armor with it's heavy ammo perk,, Heart of the Praxic Fire, I can carry almost 500 rounds of heavy ammo. Totally insane.
To top it all, it also has the Quick Draw option that makes it much better for PvP, combined with the fact that kills with it reduce my grenade cooldown.
I've never been this excited over any of my weapons, and I'm getting quite a collection now. It sounds great, and has this fantastic void-effect muzzle flash when firing,
So, best machine gun ever? I think this would be hard to top. Does anyone else have a better mix of stats on theirs? Let me known.
And while you're at it, tell me what gun gave you a "Holy Crap, this thing's a beast!" moment. Thanks all.

I got super good advice, from bounty, BEAT EVER
-
I can't work out if this is serious or not... The Culling has to be one of the worst machine guns in the game, along with the prestige and the rest of the Low impact / High RoF weapons. They are an instant dismantle for me.
-
Meh, depends on situation. In Crucible I'd rather have a Deviant Gravity or SWARM that kills in 3 bullets to the head.
-
i luv my random Deviant Gravity, also with Field Scout (and Arc)....is rather use this than the Thunderlord
-
Against all odds with field scout.
-
I got the culling with this as well as a lmg from new monarchy but with arch same rolls as yours lol
-
I think my buddy has one... he loves that thing. While the rest of us are reloading he is still laughing and mowing stuff down.
-
That's a bullet hose for sure. I have a solar one with field scout. It's kick is it's biggest downfall. It's in the high ROF machine class. Not the best for distance fights. I got two different Deviant Gravity's today, I need to try them out. The impact is unreal because it's the low ROF MG.
-
Let me introduce you to a gun called deviant gravity-A with counter balance, hammer forged, and surplus
-
Against all Odds for me! Love it in the Crucible!
-
Slow firing hmgs with good stability are the better option. And is why thunderlord is so crazy good. Hits hard, easy to conserve ammo on, and is quite stable with or without the stability perk. Plus it just sounds awesome.
-
I have the culling with 150 rounds in arc. Wish it had more impact. Over the course of a mag, my 50 round harms way does more damage than 150 rounds from my culling
-
For PVP the best machine gun is Corrective Measure hands down. 150 rounds and it takes 5 to kill, 3 in the head, although only good players can utilize how good it actually is.
-
My corrective measures with 300 rounds is hard to top
-
Edited by korg_thekronan: 3/2/2015 11:37:24 PMGot Harms Way from a legendary engram. I have it equipped. Currently it is my favorite heavy machine gun. It's like Corrective Measure with quicker reload speed, higher Attack, and increased stability. Also it has field scout equipped to make the mag size 100. And void damage. I also have the culling. I love it, but I think Harms Way is better.
-
Doesn't matter what perks you get. Even with perfect balance, the culling is one of the worst guns in destiny.
-
JH, with Rodeo, Hammer Forge, and Crowd Control. -blam!-ing Beast. I use Aggressive Ballistics. 2 Shots to kill anyone after the first kill.
-
It's a good gun would like to replace the grenade perk to something like crowd control but it's not that bad
-
Well I have the Deviant Gravity and the new monarchy MG. Neither from their own packages XD
-
I love my Jolder's Hammer more than my Thunderlord.
-
I have the same one but with arc, and it shreds through all those fallen captains and hive knights. Really excited that I could possibly get one of each element.
-
Edited by GILRODAH: 3/2/2015 11:08:08 PMFatebringer is still my holy crap gun, I just love hitting one headshot and causing an entire wave of mobs to disintegrate
-
I was under the assumption that All MG Ammo capped out at 300....
-
I have the MG18A Harm's Way. It's pretty good, in my opinion
-
Against All Odds, from a Crucible care package first day TDB released. Arc - Smart Drift Control - Range Finder - Field Scout - Crowd Control. Probably my favorite RNG weapon.
-
Edited by iPROCombat: 3/2/2015 10:48:00 PMI have a 2.0 CORRECTIVE MEASURE minus the oracle disruptor perk (obviously) Edit: same perks, it's on my warlock
