As much as I like the E-motes on the D-pad, I would much rather use it as a quick option for synthesis packs. Like to hear what the community thinks. Thanks

Holy crap I posted something very similar to this today! Great minds etc etc I agree allow for customization if the DPad with the intent to dump emotes (those who choose to keep may) in favor if weapon swapping, rapid access to consumables, bounty listing etc. I hate having to page through screens looking for something....very clunky.

I was actually coming here to the suggestions page to make a post about the d pad. I think it would be terrific if you could create favorite weapons, armor, and consumables. Then when you pressed up on the d pad it wod bring up your favorites. Similar to the way skyrim does it. Cheers 😎

Edited by Zaniel Aus: 3/20/2015 4:50:44 AMThey could easily use a cascading wheel that handles up for gun load outs, left for synthesis, right for grenades and down for emotes, with virtual wheels below each of those top level options also controlled by the D-pad.

This needs to happen... bump!

The D-pad has been useless since launch. Whoever came up with the idea to use the d-pad for e-motes is a complete idiot.
-
For ps4 users, a double tap on touchpad could give you four more controls via d-pad
-
It would be nice to use it to change grenade types as well.
-
The d pad should be used for loadouts. To switch between different exotic and legendary set ups for different situations. The ammo synthesis should just be used when you equip that weapon and you have no ammo by pressing and holding the square button
-
I just think you should be able to change your wave, sit, dance and point to a custom selection.
-
I love the emotes on the D pad it really isn't that hard or slow of a process to go to the menu. I guess if you're on 360 or PS3 then yeah it would be very useful as it takes forever to load.
-
I like the weapon option selector in Crysis3. Currently annoying to bring up a menu to switch scopes, etc.

Bump for my clan mate. We've been talking about this in our raid for awhile. Glad you finally posted it. Being able to use heavy on the dpad would be so much easier. My only issue is, they would have to display a timer for heavy synth somewhere on your screen then so you know when you can use it.
-
I like the emotes, but we do need a way to use a synth quicker. Like maybe holding X or the ps4 equivalent with whatever type weapon equipped uses one. Have a circular prompt appear on the screen similar to leaving for orbit. A guy made a nice "what if" video with lots of great ideas. That was one of them.

I think there should be a menu like in gta where you can pick what it does.
-
If only this game were on pc. We could get all sorts of custom mods for it.
-
The d pad is what we call yo mamas house

Bungie doesn't know what to do with the D yet but they will soon learn
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Bump Bump Bump Bump Bump Bump Bump Bump Bump Bump Bump Bump Bump Bump Bump Bump Bump Bump Bump Bump Bump Bump Bump Bump Bump

Why not have both? With your ghost out its an options menu, when your ghost is... Where does your ghost go when not being a flash light, extremely slow lock pick or sparrow/get me outta here menu? Anyway, when the ghost isn't in your hand, its back to dancing like a boss over the bodies of slain foes.

Customizable D-pad?
-
Okay this is clearly a big issue with alot of people. Easiest way to solve it. Make the d pad unlimitly customizable. Instead of strictly making them do certain things. Allow the player to assign them to what they want the most. I feel this should be strictly accessible from your destiny app though. I.E. up switches your d pad to control two of your synthesis and one other consumable such as black was idols or resupply codes or experience boosts for your weapons (bought from xur). Left and right switches your d pad to control things such as your weapons or your specific loadouts completely customizable from weapons to gear. Down switches you back to emotes. So lets say your holding your remote. You start from not using anything on your d pad. You want to change your loadout to one of the six you have predesigned. You would press left or right ( depending on which side you created it on.) Equip that loadout. Then you need a heavy ammo synth and a black wax idol. You would press left or right (because you are currently on your loadout presets) then press up and then your synthesis and black was idol. And after you've killed your enemies you wish to dance on their bodies. Up on the d pad then down then your dance preset.

This is where the ps4 could use the swiping on the touch pad.
-
Don't you jut love swiping the D-ick pad?

Edited by Dabsta: 3/3/2015 4:05:51 PMOr quick weapon cycling? On ps4, the touchpad's swipe mechanics should be used for emotes. Just saying...
