The brutality of RNG system when...
First and foremost sorry for my english, especially my grammar is poor :)
In my opinion the rng system is the most brutal and devastating when you are after one single weapon (exotic). I'm personaly looking only for a hawkmoon, i know many of you have the same problem with dear Gjala (i received six of them...) and also with different weapons. In terms of hawkmoon what is more depressing is that it will not be sold by xur in any near future for 100 percent.
When you are after one, single weapon you can play even 3000 hours and with current rng do not find it. It's not cool, it's not fair. But what if we could buy any exotic we want but for an astronomical ammount of exotic shards. For example 50. To have 50 exotic shards you need a lot of coins (350 if i remember correctly) and every exotic you already have and will drop for you once again will not be poor news because it will count for that one special item you are looking for. To EARN 50 exotic shards you have to play a lot.
What do you think about this idea?

Why 50 exotic shards you may ask? 50 exotic shards - it would still require a lot of grinding - something bungie wants from us. I have 800 hours and i don't have so many shards.
My idea would give a feeling that we work forward something. Hoping only for a pure luck is depressing after so many hours.

What I think would be a good idea is to have a "wish list" let's say guns are weighted in rarity or power (Gjallarhorn and Red Death would be highest ATM) So each week you can go to a temple in the tower devoted to RNGesus. In this temple you can "sacrifice" various goods to increase your chances of a specific exotic that week. For instance, lets say I want a Gjallarhorn: I can go to the temple and just to put it on the wish list costs 3 exotic shards. For every addition to the wish list the chances of rolling the specific weapon when the game decides to give you an exotic goes up by 5%. Sacrificing radiant, or ascendant materials will bring up the chances (capping at 25%) so a combination of 50 shards and 3 exotic shards will give you a 25% chance to drop that specific exotic when you would receive an Exotic [b]NOTE[/b]: this does not increase the chances of rolling exotics; just the chance of getting your desired exotic when you receive an exotic.

Xur should sell exotic bounties instead of exotics themselves... come out with a bounty for every exotic nd make them riduculous to get

I agree that it is brutal at times. I was fortunate to get every VOG weapon in a fairly timely manner. However I'm at 40 Crota completions and still have not gotten the Word of Crota. It was the only primary I really wanted from the raid and RNG just won't let me have it. It's very very frustrating.

Hawkmoon drops more often in the VOG then regularly in weekly/ nightfall

If I could give you some super good advice, I'd say take the thorn out of your butt and just give the game a bit of patience and time! I know the truth hurts, but instead of this plan, think past plan b and straight to plan c! Go to a bar, think of a killer icebreaker and chat someone new up! And yes I know you're gonna try have the last word in this, but if that doesn't happen, go home pick up your new universal remote from bed, bath & beyond and try something new.... If I could sum this up I'd say stop being a bad juju (not a hitler joke) and enjoy Destiny for what it is....a quest for Gjallarhorn and the destruction that follows :)

4 RepliesI don't quite have as many hours as most in this game however I don't mind waiting until I get lucky for a great exotic. My biggest pet peave in this game is most of the exotics are not much better than the legendaries Example: no land beyond, terrible gun has zero purpose except collecting dust in the vault. Suros, USED to be an awesome gun but they needed the crap outta it now it's TERIBLE and I hate that. Hard light, it's a pea shooter now since they nerfed I don't have many exotics but there's not many that are amazing. I'd like exotics to be awesome guns so when you FINALLY a get one, it'll be something you're proud to use.

I'd like to see something like this. Some way of getting hold of the last exotic weapon/s you need/want. I've not had a Monte Carlo or Ghorn drop and have over 800 hours played. I don't actually fell like I [i]need[/i] either, just want to have had all exotic weapons. 17 Vex Mythoclasts I've had. I currently have just over 30 exotic shards lol

I'm honestly happy with my current set up. Unlike most people, I could care less for the Jellyhorn. All I ever wanted was the Hawkmoon and The Heart of The Praxic Fire. I now have two Hawkmoons and one HotPF. So I'm set with this game. Don't really need anything else.
