It hammers you with a Tracking rocket before impact of that said rocket it launches off several other rockets that finish off your corpse.
So in English. Slammed by one rocket then hit by a few other rockets.

One rocket doesnt take down a boss in one shot so thats why people enjoy the gjallarhorn to take bosses down faster Plus even if u do miss, the wolfpack will kill people who arent close to the rockets first explosion
