Brief review of every exotic weapon (except nechrochasm)

As I have been lucky enough to get every single exotic weapon, whether from xur or RNG, I can provide you all some tips that I have learned about each of the weapons, if you don't want to watch the various youtube weapon reviews out there. Oh and I'm on xbox, so no hawkmoon/monte carlo/4th horseman. But from what I've heard hawkmoon is great, the other 2 not really. [b]Suros regime[/b]- I'm just gonna assume everybody knows what this is and it's capablities, but if you don't have it, try to , as it is a solid weapon in both pvp and pve [b]Hard light[/b]- Pretty worthless in pve, in pvp its fun, not amazingly powerful but fun, contrary to popular myth it DOES NOT penetrate defender's bubbles [b]Vex Mythoclast[/b]- great in pvp, lacks in range but makes up in damage. -blam!-s people in close quarters. Pve wise it is definitely a good weapon for strikes and such, not sure if it is viable for the raids. Simply because an exotic sniper/launcher might be more useful. [b]Red Death[/b]- I didn't really think this was useful until the crota hard raid, really comes in handy healing yourself in the crota fight, and with the recent buff it's much more worth it in pvp, a 2 shot kill if you get dem precision shots on. [b]Bad juju[/b]- not something I would use in the raid, but I useful weapon when running all other pve content, as the easy to kill mobs play to the weapons strengths, pretty shit in pvp, haven't tried it post buff [b]Mida Multi tool[/b]- pve wise I wouldn't really use it as plenty of viable legendary scout rifles, however in things like the lamp abyss and being sword runner the agility boost comes in handy. In pvp if you like scout rifles you'll love it, if you don't it won't change anything. [b]Last word[/b]- total monster in pvp, use it all the time, wreck with it all the time, in pve basically pointless [b]Thorn[/b]- great in pvp, especially in iron banner with the level advantages the DOT really plays well, pve wise it is decent, but not really end game worthy material, the DOT still doesn't do enough damage. Can be useful for keeping crotas shield from recharging. [b]Universal remote[/b]- fun in pvp, not necessarily better than some of the legendary shotguns, but regardless it is fun. Pve wise it was virtually useless before, and even with the shotgun buff recently for most end game material you just can't get close enough to enemies to use this. [b]No land beyond[/b]- useless, only point is in pvp if you wanna -blam!- around and see if you can make a montage or something [b]Ice breaker[/b]- Most versatile weapon in pve, can use it from anything, the raids to patrol missions. A must have. Not to mention its free special ammo for other legendary specials. Pvp wise wouldn't sacrifice an exotic slot for it, but it's not bad. [b]Plan C [/b]- useful in vog for the oracles, and really anywhere where the dps is medium range and must be done quickly. In pvp its a good fusion rifle, but you don't need to use plan C to do well with a fusion rifle, its merely an added bonus, in fact the quick charge time can even put you off. [b]Pocket infinity[/b] pve wise it can be useful in the lamp abyss, but there are better choices, maybe in a solar burn weekly. Pvp wise it well tear people up, but its normally overkill, use another fusion rifle, the charge time is slow anyway. [b]Invective[/b]- pve, much better exotic's to be using in pve, espcially in the special weapon slot. pvp wise there are plenty of legendary shotguns with the full auto perk and plenty with equal or more range than the invective. the 'regen ammo' is basically nonexistent. [b]Patience and time[/b]- useful for the invisibility in raids and strikes, also useful with an arc burn weekly, but otherwise use the icebreaker or your exotic slot for something else. pvp wise the low stability and invisibility can be useful, but people can generally still see you unless from a distance, only use this if you like to hide in the back and stalk choke points. [b]Truth[/b]- a viable rocket launcher substitute for the ghallahorn in some situations, like strikes, still useful in the raid as long as some other members of you strike have cluster bomb rocket launchers, useful in void burn strikes. Pvp wise the aggressive tracking isn't really as great as you would make it out to be, still if you like rockets in pvp then go ahead it is definitely a good launcher. [b]Dragon's breath[/b]- No tracking makes it unideal for crota, strikes wise its alright, but not amazing, you can definitely use a legendary launcher in it's place. Pvp it is pointless, where you fire it anything will be killed by the blast, so they won't be affected by the flare, and nobody will be stupid enough to walk into it. Looks damn cool though. [b]Thunderlord[/b]- viable in pve for strikes, especially those arc burn ones. not really in the raids, the damage output isn't worth the exotic slot, and generally LMGs aren't good in raids. Pvp wise it is fun, and definitely a monster, but whether you want to sacrifice your exotic slot is your choice to make. [b]Super good advice[/b]- my good advice is to not use this thing, it -blam!-ing promotes bad aim (shots that MISS return ammo). bad in pve and pvp. [b]Ghallahorn[/b]- don't care how you spell or pronounce it, it is a beast. Definitely useful in the raid, strikes, anything really. Even when it isn't solar shields it still wrecks. Also great in pvp, the tracking and cluster bombs can easily take out more than one enemy. Hope you find this useful. EDIT: super good advice is useful for oracles in vog because hits on oracles count as misses

  • Never give an exotic slot to the Icebreaker in PvP unless it's your only sniper. It's trash outside of the ammo regen which isn't an issue in PvP. It's more of a hindrance when you always respawn with 0 ammo. Super Good Advice is also very, very good for Oversoul in CE as they also count as misses. Otherwise I don't agree with all of them, but nice list. Only needs the PS exclusives too.
