Gearbox tried pretty hard the first year, but eventually they were focused on Brothers in Arms. The aimbotting came later on and everyone (M$, Bungie, Gearbox) looked the other way. M$ never put the resources into fixing the problem, so I guess you can blame them since they own the game. You can definitely blame them for H2v support or lack thereof. Not that support could polish that turd. Anyway, thanks for the patch Bungie after so long.

hey if we lost the product key will it let us install it if we kinda uninstalled it the day of this update because it didnt work?(i was mad to figure this out. why wasnt it sent out thru a xbox live msg?

Thanks alot sawnose for your work... We all thought we'd been forgotten out there after all these years hehe. For all those playing PC and that haven't even tryed Custom Edition, It's worth taking a look because it lets you create your own maps(in a Much better fashion H2V) so you can fly pelicans around and such... Also Sawnose, How come you're the one with the build machine and not M$ or Gearbox hehe? Thanks alot once more.

I definitely agree with your opinion... But when Halo 3 is going to be released in future, it should be ported much better than Halo 2 was: better performance and better mouse control/sensitivity, maybe better textures too ;-) - H2 could have been such a great port, but in the end it wasn't very successful, unfortunately... I like this game is getting support YEARS after release while Halo 2 for Vista is essentially abandoned by Microsoft. I hope that when Halo 3 releases for PC, you know it will, that there is actual support, even if Microsoft has to give support duties to Bungie.

I thought you leafblew your problem away? Awesomeness, now I can take one more cd out of the huge stack I have on my desk.

Yayyyyy no more CD!!!!!!!!! it is so incredibly scratched. This is the only game my dad plays, he refuses to play Halo 2 for pc because its too complicated and he wont pick up an xbox controller because that is too complicated as well, he plays the game almost every day.

If I lost my CD but I still have the case (with the security PIN) If I download the custom edition and use the PIN to install it would it work?

Removing the disc check is great, its a unneeded feature that all PC games can do without. As long as you have the correct Key, the disc should be unneeded. Still supporting a game 5 years old shows your dedication, keep it up!
