No. Just no. No upgrades for old shit. Thats not how games work. This is not call of duty. Welcome to level progression.

Lol please actually take time to read the post. This is not a system that would supersede level progression if you actually read the post. It is a way to upgrade old gear once you have obtained the max level for the dlc. Still would have to buy the dlc. Just after you max out you get to upgrade old gear. Why wouldn't you want customization and more options. Do you want to look like everyone else. Oh wait that's right iron banner also offers armor that can supersede the raid gear. So I don't see the problem. Again thank you for your view point. But I mean this isn't a system for working around level progression at all. Just once you level up to the max level for dlc through the raid or iron banner (cause you can with some gear). You get more options to customize and level up old gear.

  • I dont need to reas the post, because an option to upgrade old weapons and gear is not a good idea in my opinion, no matter how you slice it, old raid gear and weapons become irrelevant. Thats standard. I know ecerybody loves their fatebringers, but its never going to useful in new raids it will always be useful in patrol.

  • The solution to the problem, is not upgrading old raid gear, this game screwed up by requiring gear to level up past 20. The solution to everybody looking the same is just to have different looking gear with different perks drop in each raid, should be 5-10 different pieces of each armor set. Mix and match based on perks you like.

That would only solve a minor part of the problem. The attractive thing about this idea is it would make old raids relevant again without detracting from the new. Destiny's biggest failing is lack of content. Other MMOs can afford to make old content redundant. Destiny can't.

  • Youre saying that we treat the symptoms instead if the disease. Think about the long term effects. Eventually having ten raids. All of which have max level gear available? I agree the game lacks content. But if you want to run vog for fun, youre going to do it regardless of whether you can get max level gear from it. That wont add any content to the game its a manipulation of existing content. The old raid weapons and armor are still relevant in every single part of this game except crotas end.... So how is vog irrelevant? Dont want to look like every other gaurdian, wear different gear.
