One of the big bets we made with Destiny was having a unified player inventory across all activities. I wouldn't want to add a bunch of rules for weapons you can/can't use under certain circumstances, and we spent a lot of time making sure weapons behave the way we expect them to. The Vex Mythoclast is the outlier of all outliers, so congrats to those players who have earned it (though I'll stick with Thorn, thanks).

Hey mantis, would it also be out of the question seperate the pve and pvp gun stats similar to what you did with the shotguns in pvp and pve? It would be nice to be able to feel like the suros is an exotic again in pve. Same goes for mythoclast. Thorn is great and fantastic but I like to become my own legend, not yours.

  • My Vex is now in my Vault. It's ruined for now. It was my favorite primary exotic drop, and I got the Gjally on a nightfall, so I felt like I really 'earned' the Vex. I only play PvE and it seems like Bungie does not care about it's largest player base: PvE players. How did you guys miss the effects that were bound to happen to the Vex considering that its a Fusion rifle? It performs horribly in PvE now because the 'shots' break-off in all sorts of random directions. No more precision. If this gun is your 'masterpiece', you sure have traumatized it too many times to justify it's 'masterpiece' designation. Leave it OP and hard to obtain, like you treat the Gjally.

  • Are you using the Send It (believe that's what it's called) perk that increases range/accuracy? That's all you need and it works great. Ammo is still a concern, but the damage buff on kills should allow you to make short work of most enemies. Of course, now that you have G-horn and enjoy PvE.. there really is no point in ever using a different exotic.

Hey, Problem: What's the vex worth when bungie broke it? Have you even used it in PvE on a level 30+ raid/strike since the patch? Solution: Make PvP weapons for PvP make PvE weapons for PvE. Use WoW as a good example! If you want to allow use of weapons across game types hit make the PvP weapons not as powerful in PvE and PvE not as powerful in PvP. You don't even have to create new weapons, just put a stamp on them classifying them as PvP and PvE! You could do PvP exotic bounties and PvE exotic bounties as well with the rarest bounties being across both. I don't know if your aware how messed up the PvE is since the last update but bungie better do something quick before tey lose all of its most dedicated players

  • Well youre doing something wrong if your out in the open using a scout..you shouldnt be taking any hits while trying to fire that thing unless you have the beat connection and everyone is lagging lol

  • PVP and PVE simply cannot be balanced together, Mantis. It's impossible to have creative weapons for PVE and be balanced in PVP

  • Just make load outs you have to select when going into crucible. Make all weapons back to the way they were and have a specific set of weapons for crucible. A selection of each type of weapon would even everything out. Yes people are going to cry but let's face it cry babies are going to cry no matter what you give them.

  • I'd like to hear your thoughts on unification of PvE -v- PvP weapon models. If not what is the Grand Unifying Theory for keeping it separate when they obviously affect each other so much? How can we have an open world until these are reconciled?

I posted a separate question about this, but for the sake of shameless self-promotion, could you check it out? It's a follow up to this answer and could be interesting. https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/105037775/0/0/1
