Switching Subclasses. How does it work?

I'm new to the game and have a lvl 25 Voidwalker. I'm not clear on the ramifications of switching to the Sunslinger subclass. Will I lose anything that I've gained from Voidwalker? Will I basically start as a 1st level Sunslinger, needing to earn new experience to unlock all of the new abilities for that subclass? I've read that you can switch back and forth, but I haven't found anything definitive as to how the mechanics actually work. Thanks in advance!

  • If you switch subclasses, you being leveling the one you switched to and progress on your other one is halted (but not deleted). only thing you lose is grenades (resets), melee (resets) and supers (resets). That's it.

  • The only thing you lose is all of your super progress if you switch mid-mission. There's no other penalties at all.

  • You have to level each class individually. You do not lose the old classes xp when changed. You keep everything once earned.

  • It's just like new weapons. Once you upgrade them, they stay upgraded. You don't lose progress by switching. You can switch them at will whenever you want and based on situation.

  • max out one subclass, then max out the other - then you can switch back and forth. Nothing is lost. But new subclass obviously means you start from scratch with that subclass, but nothing is lost from your maxed out class, that stays maxed out.

  • You have to level each class individually, but you don't lose the levels in the class when. You switch out of them.

  • Just change it and see what happens. It's very simple to understand once you do it (:

  • You don't lose progress when you switch and can switch between them at will. Each sub-class has its own progression.

  • Your level will stay the same but your skills will go to the su singer subclass. That means you start again and need to unlock all the skills.
