Where as doing the weekly and getting the guaranteed 9 coins from it, is earning them. Therefore buying a Gjallarhorn from Xur with coins you earned from the weekly is earning a Gjallarhorn. OP clearly has a huge sense of entitlement!

I have no problem with it being sold but most people say earning it is getting it from one of the drops.

To those people I say this... 'If I'm walking down the street and find £10 on the floor opposed to washing 5 cars at £2 each, which £10 have I earned and which have I found?' Usually shuts them up!
