Tired of getting one shot in PvP. Notice lots of people have shield similar to the ones you take down on some PvE enemies. How do you get one of those?

Don't stop trying - that's the hardest part. You'll probably die a lot if you just started PvP since a lot of people have been playing the game since launch and not only have better gear but have the maps memorized. They are used to the radar, know you are coming around the corner and fire before you can see them. Just looking over your gear and I would say trying to upgrade your weapons and armor would also help level the playing field. Bungie says all the gear is normalized (which is it) but that doesn't effect the weapon / armor perks. Weapon perks like Tracking on rockets or Final Round on a sniper can make for easy one hit kills. Armor perks can increase melee speed, reload speeds or give you more ammo for a given weapon.

3/4 of your health bar is your shield when you see the pulsation on your screen and the bar turns red that's your health.

2 RepliesI don't want to sound like a dick but wow dude you need some help for pvp. 0.14 KD in control??? Must be new to FPS. You also have a shield by the way.
-
Also some players get extra shield from melee.

You know how your health bar has 3 sections? The 2 right side thirds of the shield are the shield. You have one too. The red part in their health bar is the last quarter.
-
An opposing player's health is split into two bars when viewed in your HUD for some reason. They don't actually have a shield unless you also see a third green bar as well.

The first 2 "bars" of your health in pvp Is technically your "shield"
