SONG OF FLAME
YO WARLOCKS!
Why the blam don't you guys ever use this?! It's so awesome in a strike when you can get all 3 guardians chuckin 'nades all over the place.
Kind of crazy that after months of playing, this was the first time someone popped song of flame for me and actually stayed near me and the other titan we were with. It works at about half the rate as the warlocks grenade boost but it still allows you to throw about 5-6 grenades consecutively. It's extremely helpful and it's something that makes radiance so much better than how people normally use it. In other words...
Stop being a scrub and holding onto your super for the entire strike! Pop that Song of Flame, stand near your teammates, and makes some damn orbs!

Warlocks don't use it because if a fire team wipes who ends up saving everyone with light beyond nemesis and fireborn us.

I love getting Sepiks to half health with radiance and fusion grenades.

I primarily stick to radiant skin if im going to use sunsigner at all I hands down prefer voidwalker but those fusion grenades are great thats the only reason i even dabble in the sun

Most people(me included) don't really pay attention. Also I prefer Radiant Skin on the Omnigul Strike so I can jump up and pump that bitch full of nades without having to worry about Knights and her shooting me.

I use Song of Flame when im with people I know otherwise I dont bother because random noobs never actually make use of Song of Flame popping up on their screen.

If you're in a Nightfall, the Warlock(s) is(are) almost definitely holding that super for their self-revive because Kick To Orbit is frustrating. As for Song of Flame, it just isn't potent enough to warrant using it instead of Radiant Skin. The 'Lock will throw at least twice as many grenades during Radiance as the other classes, exposing themselves to enemy fire in the process. Warlocks simply don't have enough armor to sensibly risk half the Super's worth of grenades--and any Orbs waiting on the ground--just for the lackluster Song of Flame buff (although I'm certainly partial to the idea).

I do use Song of Flame unless I'm solo, in which case I use Radiant Skin

You might be the only non-warlock who uses grenades when we pop super. Because ppl suck.

2 RepliesNo one ever pays attention to it. They are either scoped and can't see it or they just don't notice it or notice what's going on. When I first got it I thought it was great until I see everyone basically run away from me when I pop it, and when I hug them they don't toss a single nade and they just get gunned down. It would be nice if destiny made some obvious cue or a nice over lay in the top right to show all your buffs even when scoped. I also am guilty of holding my super, but that's mostly cuz I'm using fireborn in case someone effs up. If the people I'm with are good then I burn it when ever I feel but otherwise I always hold on to it for those moments. Sorry if that's frowned upon but I rather know I have that luxury when I'm going pug.

There needs to be a better visual cue for when song of flame is up. If I run it almost no one knows that its up and they just run away I've been mainly using voidwalker because of that now

Because everyone one is used to using fireborn when they know it's useless in a vanguard strike song of flame is way better.

It's rare a match made fireteam speaks to eachother. Taking out the ghost and entering into chat is annoying and I imagine most people haven't turned on auto-entry when solo. Team coordination with supers is so much fun; especially with defenders and sunsingers involved.

2 RepliesI used to, until I realized that nobody ever took advantage of it. I would be doing a strike and would pull out Song of Flame, but they didn't know that it was active. They kept shooting, and I was standing right next to them throwing grenades. People would never use it. I would see people throw a grenade at a boss, so I knew that their cool down was reset. I would activate radiance, but they wouldn't use the grenades that I know just regenerated.

Because nobody seems to know what it does lol I'd always run with that in strikes but when I used radiance the other peps would run away and just continue to shoot.

I just recently got my Warlock to 20 (Heart of the Praxic Fire motivated me to finally make the last stretch to 20) and now my buddy and I are running a double Sunsinger warlock combo. In randoms though, I would honestly use something like Radiant Skin since there's not really a chance of Fireborn coming in handy in a normal level 26 ROC and randoms don't notice the Song of Flame. With Radiant Skin I've been able to manmode really heavily, rocking as much toughness and recovery as I can possibly muster and nuking ads left and right with nades, along with my shotgun because of the shotgun update! Back on topic, I'd say Song of Flame is only good when you're in comms with others, so you can coordinate it, but I feel like fireborn or radiant skin help more (depending on the situation).
