What is the best slot to use an Exotic weapon?
I don't know which slot to put my Exotic weapon in, so please vote on this poll.

Take your favorite choice depending on personnel preference or in game scenario and keep it next to a legendary similar to that exotic and switch out as needed. In raids an exotic heavy like the gally will ensure help for your teammates which is always important. For primary; raid weapons will almost always do the job and they wont take up your slot Hope it helped

It all depends on the content. Generally in PVE the Heavy slot gets the most use, but in PVP Primary and Secondary have so much more use!!

Yeah - as others have said, it completely depends on context. There are a huge range of exotics with an enormous variety of perks. Some of these have great general utility, while others are only really useful in specific situations. Additionally, some are great in PvE but lacklustre in PvP, and vice-versa. Try them out and see how they feel - just be prepared to do a certain amount of switching! I presume you're asking this because you've just got hold of your first few Exotics. What have you got? Perhaps I can give some more specific advice. ;)

Best to put your "exotic weapon" in any "slot" that fits. Even if it fits a little tight at the start. Don't worry, it'll fit.

Since you're going to be able to use your primary all the time due to the abundance of ammo, go with a primary Exotic. Here are some recommendations: Red Death: Regenerates health after every kill, good for Crota's End. Thorn: Rounds cause damage over time. Last Word: Rapid Fire hand cannon, amazing bonuses when fired from the hip. Hawkmoon (playstation exclusive): Very long range, 3 bullets in the mag do bonus damage, but could potentially stack onto one bullet. SUROS Regime: Super long range, fire rate slows down when ADS.

5 RepliesDepends on the situation and the exotic. Best heavy is gjallahorn, hands down, no debate. Best sniper is ice breaker Best primary is up for debate, and depends entirely on your play style. Personally, I only equip an exotic primary if 1) I am trying to level it up or, 2) I am in the crucible (and I'm almost never in the crucible) For me, normal play when patrolling for bounties or whatever I typically equip exotic in secondary. Icebreaker is really useful there. Gjallahorn only comes out when facing Crota, or a strike boss. Deals huge damage really quickly, and the tracking feature is great.

Depends on what weapons and how you play. It's really about personal preference.

This really depends on your other weapons that are not exotic, if you have good secondary+heavy legendary weapons use an exotic primary and the same if you change them around. However you'll probably want to redo this poll somewhere else such as under the topic of #Destiny since this isn't really a think where need help just some tips.
