What's with the Covenant ship names? Do they just take a random Adverb and a random Noun and shove them together? Most of the ship names make no sense at all. Take this ship name for example: Unyielding Hierophant. What the heck is that?
Posted by: Nalvax I meant that Hierophant was a noun. Sorry, I get Adverbs and Adjectives mixed up sometimes.
Remember, adverbs can describe either verbs or adjectives. Adjectives only describe nouns.

unyielding is not a noun, its an adjective. /fail now, covenant ships usually use words that are synonymous with biblical and religion.
-
hi·er·o·phant-. 1.(in ancient Greece) an official expounder of rites of worship and sacrifice. 2. any interpreter of sacred mysteries or esoteric principles; mystagogue. If you dont know what unyeilding means... well you know where im going.
-
They all have some sort of hidden meaning or message behind the names. For a full list of all the names of Covenant ships you can try Halopedia.
-
Unyielding Hierophant isn't really a ship.. its more like High Chairity, but smaller..
-
well all of the covenant vehicles are named after different forms of ghosts. and the humans are named after animals....why is this of surprise >_>
-
What I mean is, how do they come up with the names? Was it ever revealed in any Halo books or anything?
-
