Hello everybody.
Starting today, the new patch is in effect, here is the link if you want to take a look at it.
https://www.bungie.net/en/News/News?aid=12607
I am not gonna speak about the "weapons fixes", but of something that really pisses me off... matchmaking in the weekly heroic.
I am pissed not because it is a bad idea, actually, it is a great idea, many times in the tower, there has been people asking me to help them with the challenge, sometimes i can help them, sometimes i cannot and many people does not have friends who plays destiny, so there is no way for them to find a team, so the matchmaking is a good idea for them.
My problem is that they added the matchmaking as an obligation and not as an option as it should have been.
I like to complete strikes by myself, sometimes with my friends...but why it should be an obligation to do it with people i do not know? What about if only one of my friends is online? So...i will have to play with my friend and somebody i do not even know?
Many times i have played strikes playlist with players who wants to complete a bounty or are too lazy or whatever the reason is and they do nothing or spend the whole time hiding or farming or something completely different from helping with the strike, to be honest when i see that kind of players, i commit suicide in the darkness zone so they are also killed an forced into the darkness area with me.
That being said, in this very particular case...matchmaking in weekly heroic challenge SHOULD be optional...not a an obligation and to be honest, this is another example of bungie/activision making us play the way they want us to...not the way we want...
"Create your own legend" yeah right, what a joke more like " Create your own legend the way we tell you".
Edit 1: after reading a lot of the answers, it seems that many people does not know how to read between lines, so i will spell it out for you.
The thing i am against is FORCED MATCHMAKING, not the matchmaking itself, i do not care about soloing weekly, nightfalls or whatever challeges they create, i am aganist forcing us to play with other players that we do not want to.
If they want to make thinga easier, why don't they force us to matchmaking during patrols?
Greetings everybody.

If you end up with two people who aren't doing anything, then what's the difference compared to doing it solo? You people need to think these arguments out a bit better. Either you get free help, or nothing is different.
-
If you want to solo then do the nightfall.
-
I apologize for coming off as an ass here, but this rant could have ended after just the title. We all get your message without it being so long-winded Good luck out there, guardian. Be strong. We can't always get what we want in life.
-
3 RepliesHey. Easy fix to forced match making. Put your consoles date back a day. Queue up. Wait 15-20 secs. Nobody can join. Proceed to solo strike. Done.
-
5 Replies"Community" asks for more matchmaking. "Community" gets matchmaking. "Community" wants matchmaking removed. The cycle of patch continues...

I love the new matchmaking
-
More people is better. If you like playing solo why are you playing an online only game shit for brains.
-
Solution: get full fireteam of friends. Unless you have no friends. Which in that case means TOO -blam!-ING BAD
-
More people playing games is better.. We will see what the numbers say in a while..I'm sure they will boast that up in our face soon. But anything that gets more interactions.. I'm in support of

1 ReplyI'm annoyed with your name ... Simply "Fenrir" would have sufficed.
-
It's not only the matchmaking. They changed stuff without asking for any feedback, like enemies not dropping heavy ammo in the Crucible. It's seriously like they don't give a shit what we think.
-
Bump, had one guy AFK and the other a level 29 for level 30
-
Holy crap i finished the weekly heroic strike in 15 min
-
There is a glitch you can do with the time and date to make it were you are the only person. It works with all strikes. Just look it up on YouTube.

Edited by DrunklockHolmes: 2/26/2015 4:08:42 AMI always solo the weeklies, so if more people are in the strike, I'll just keep going through the paces. If they die and I can rez them, so be it. It doesn't change my playstyle and it doesn't change my outlook. Hell , I always send out invites to my friends or even just other players when I reach the end. It's a waste of two spots for me to hit the rewards screen on my own. So for me, it's a non issue. If I play matchmaking, I'm playing the strike and I'm getting rewards with 2 other people. If I play solo, I'm playing a slightly tougher strike and I'm getting the rewards and wasting two perfectly good slots. To me, it's more the merrier. If you decide to stand still, you're only ruining it for yourself. Me, I'll get there with or without you. I'm not one to get all mad about you pulling your weight if you being around doesn't really make my job any harder. tl:dr : I've been soloing weeklies since the beginning and if you all decide to go afk, I'll still be soloing it now. The situation doesn't get worse in my opinion. It either gets better or nothing changes.
-
Change the date on your console = solo any activity in destiny. Works for both strikes and patrol, so I presume it would work for the weekly heroic too.
-
2 RepliesSo basically you want to do it by yourself but dont want to do it by yourself ?
-
Bitch bitch, moan moan
-
They've made it pretty obvious they don't want you soloing content designed for groups.(Whether that's a good thing or a bad thing is debatable.) Forcing matchmaking is an easy way to make sure you're not soloing stuff they don't want you to. Way easier than retuning all the strikes to make soloing more difficult.
-
Agreed, they should have given us the option to choose instead of forcing us.
-
Once again I will say it. Just get two homies together. Quit bitching. Some people will love it and some will hate it. It's always better than being alone. And if you complain about people getting kicked out, then get your friends together just like you did before the update. Man I swear some people just really love to bitch about everything. Get a life dude, it's a -blam!-ing video game........ Here is your answer for everything. If you don't like it then don't play it! Why waste your time on something that your going to just keep bitching about. Haha some people are really spoiled now a days. Bunch of cry babies if you ask me.
-
3 RepliesI only have one problem. And that's the Song of Ir Yut. Why change the magazine?
-
And Theres the first person to hate You have no friends move on
-
"I'm a loner, and a loner's gotta be alone."

Edited by Snarkii: 2/26/2015 3:48:27 AMNow, are you guys upset about matchmaking because of the people, or because they might cramp your style?
