I have noticed over the last few weeks that during nightfall strikes many players will now quit and rejoin after they die rather than waiting for other fire team members to revive them. I got a lot of grief the other night from a failed nightfall because I did not quit and rejoin after death. The main reason I don't like doing this is because I thought that you are more likely to obtain an exotic drop by staying in the match from beginning to end without leaving and resetting your kills. I have no idea whether or not this does reduce your chances but whenever members have pushed me into doing this I never seem to get exotics when other times I am usually lucky with exotics after a nightfall. Most people say it's completely random however those are usually the players wanting you to rejoin after death. Can anyone clarify this so I know whether or not I should listen to people telling me to do this.

1 ReplyIts random drop. Me and my buddy do it all the times. Just today, he rejoin with 0 kill, 0 deaths, and 0 assist and he got the Gally, was happy for him cause I already got 3 and this was his first gally

Your chance of an exotic drop isn't increased by staying in the game from start to finish, a few weeks ago one of my friends died about 20 times, he also left and came back right at the end to get the strike without dying bounty and got Gjallahorn, I ran it from start to finish, didn't die and got ascendant shards

It is very random. I was doing the Devils Lair strike and my friend and I were two manning it on Nightfall. My other friend joined us at the very end and he was the one that got the Exotic. The randomness in the game needs to be altered just a little bit.
