For a real competitive tourney the rules suck, you're going to see nothing but super spam, thorn, vex, hawkmoon, and blink shotgun. Oh and heavy spam with truth or gally.
Destiny is simply not made for competitive play, way too much special ammo, supers can run rampant and the heavy ammo is ridiculous. It should only spawn once per game, and if you die your ammo should vanish no one should be able to pick it up.
Only when they fix all of that crap will destiny become the next great competitive pvp

The game we are playing now isnt for leauge play.. ya no shit. But things like weapons, supers, heavy ammo. These are all things that SHOULD be manageable so we actually can play more competitively.

Super spam is banned. And any good player knows when to use a super. You have to wait and see. As for weapons, only 3 primaries will be used. Thorn, Hawkmoon, and the last word. It becomes a battle of who can land their first 3-4 shots with pin point accuracy. Heavy spam is not a problem because we will ban exotic heavies (I know some of the clans here who dont want to deal with it). Any good player knows how to deal with blink shotgun. And a good team will have players ready to trade for kills. Not just run around individually like morons. Anyways, come back when Destiny competitive becomes a bigger thing. Sadly, you'll just be a spectator instead of a player.

Ban exotic heavies? Gjallarhorn, Truth and Thunderlord, hmm. What's the problem with them? Wouldn't it be mad to replace heavy slot with exotic instead of primary?

It's just my own opinion. Played against a team who signed up for this two and we banned truth. Wouldnt it be too [b]easy[/b] if we allow a PvP god rocket launcher like the truth be in a competitive match? idk.

I agree with TitaN, the fact the tournament is banning final round and infinite supers shows how broken the PvP in this game is. Special and Heavy ammo, along with supers are far too available in the current setup. There is nothing competitive about the amount of OHK weapons in this game, fusion rifles especially. I would consider banning exotics and legendary weapons, or even making the tournament require pre-level 20 characters. I wish you luck in conducting a tournament anyhow, and maybe Bungie will at least see the need to make the big changes that Destiny needs to succeed.

Infinite super is banned. When 2 good teams fight each other this game can be really competitive. Specials are not a problem.

Oh the irony Specials are a problem and anyone that disagrees runs specials like they're primaries. I've been a part of close games and all you see when it's a close game like that is blink shotgun being used as primary and fusions as well. I love this idea because I miss the competitive fps scene, there hasn't been a game like that since the resistance series (CoD is a piece of shit game, so I don't count that) but sadly destiny isn't at that point yet. At least not right now. Not without dedicated servers, not without limiting special ammo, and heavy ammo, and not without limiting the amount of supers people get. Imagine if you could only get one super per game? Now that would make you think twice about using your super as a panic button trying to save yourself. Supers would become much much more strategic?

Perk isn't a special weapon. This game is lacking out of content, that's why this tournament was made. It's really cool to see competitive concept on this game finally, though it's hard without custom settings. :/
