For gaming sure. For everything else, not on your life. And there are plenty of people on these forums who have screen burn on their lcds from the extreme white and yellow ever present on the HUD. When that starts happening, you know the HUD is flawed.

LED is the future? What do you mean not for anything else? I guess you have no plans on a 4k television? They don't make those in plasma.

Not needed yet. Plus I don't plan on buying a tv 70 inches or bigger which is where the true benefit of 4k shines through. This Is just like 720 p and 1080 p. The human eye could not see the difference between a 720 p and a 1080 p from a normal viewing distance unless the tv was larger then 50 in. The tv companies are scamming people again by using catchphrases like "4k." as the best tech is now going into 4k tvs, that's your only reason to get one. I bet my vt60 plasma Would look better at 60in then the best 60in 4k currently on the market.

You my friend have never seen a 4k dispaly have you? 4k is not a scam but you are right in regard to the real benefit comes from larger displays which is why 4k was released because everyone goes bigger starting at about 65" pixelation will start slightly and get worse the higher you go. 4k is better resolution. 4k content is flawless all the way up to a 90" from what I have seen. The point I was making is plasma was like HD DVD / Blu ray. Same idea different format LED / LCD display panels won. In the future will they make 4k plasma televisions? Maybe, but for now they are LED for a reason.

4k is absolutely not a scam. I was saying that people buying them smaller then 70in was the scam. Just like when there were 1080p 42 or 46 in displays 5 years ago. You didn't need 1080 p at anything less then 50 in As it was too small a picture to see the difference. Now even though I may not need a 4k lcds, my next tv will almost certainly be one because 1080p tvs will become the entry model and the 4k models will get the state of the art tech, better filters, screens, that new dot tech that I think Sony has. I have read OLED is worse with image retention then plasma. Only LG is making them which is a bad sign. Now they look amazing at any size.
