YES THANK YOU LEGENDARY BRAWL IS BACK!!! Please tell me it is the same Legendary Brawl!?!? I worked up a 30 in 2 days with that. And it was out for FOUR days and I was sick for my two. I just HAD to play. And yes. PLEASE FIX host only edit. My friends always screw up my maps! :P

At this point, there isnt anything more I want from Bungie regarding Halo 3 Everything is to the point of perfection for me, any changes made for the better are just extra icing on the completely finished cake, which I am more than happy to accept...The only thing missing for me is two things... 1) An open envionment Forge map 2) Pre-Heroic DL maps to be updated to have fixed objects like in Foundry/Standoff I dream of the day I can build a fully realized base in Sandtrap Hopefully a new Open "Foundry" map is coming with the new map pack, or the next one after...and Hopefully the Shipped Halo 3 maps will recieve updates to support fixed objects :D But at this point, I am completely happy to be living in a Universe/Dimension/Time Paradox that Bungie also happens to exist in as well...I love them so much for giving me fun Tiemz...I realize I sound like Simmons talking to Sarge?

So does this mean it will be much easier to rank up in each playlist? If so that is good for me. My highest skill is in lone wolfs and I can`t bring my friends to help me. If this is true thank you.

this is exactly why h2 and h1 were better. it took skill, off host lag wasnt that bad, the maps were excellent, and even if you got raped it was still a fun game but bungie loves to cater to the idots and the noobs who barely even play this game

honestly i think the new rank system is going to be horrible i mean bungie you are making this game so easy it takes like no skill at all anymore i mean a noob will have a general in like big team or something and hell think like im so good im a general but hes not youve completely taken skill out of the game beyond aiming and team work anybody can be a high rank as long as they have no lives i remember when being a 35 to 40 meant you were really freaking good but now noobs have 45's! rank doesnt mean anything in halo 3 i dont know if you were trying to appeal to a younger demographic or what but other then all of the screw ups halo 3 is still the best online game around and i would really like it if you added a ranked team snipers playlist like you had it in h2 human and covenant snipe first to 50 wins no objective games or anything like that

Actually, we'll still be matching by Skill value the same way we have all along. At the playlist level, you'll still be matched against similarly skilled players, we're not resetting those numbers. We're adding a new metric for you to track your progress in a given playlist. If you're a 44 in Ranked Team Slayer, you'll still be a 44 and your 44 will still display. You will just be a level 44 Recruit in Team Slayer. After a whole bunch of games you may be a 44 General in Team Slayer. Sneaky beaver is sooooo wrong. Just read it.

Well... I must say this update was interesting. The new ranking system is ideal. *However!! I do believe that your current rank in each individual playlist should populate a milatry rank automatically. This meaning; a lvl 30 in team slay is a major, 35 a commander... I'm trying to imagine winning enough games in lone wolves for instance to actually become anything more then a gun srgt. You see bungie, I'm kind of stuck as it is in certain playlists... I could imagine how many games a lvl 50 would have to win to actually become a general, going against equal if not greater opponents over and over again.... wouldn't this cause people to lose their rank in that case?... I'm kind of in this position where i feel like I'm going to have to create a whole new account ... again. Hopefully someone reads this... if you could please reply, you would restore a little faith to my questioning thoughts. edit: I'm still confused... This new playlist ranking system does not sound like a good idea. Now people who do nothing but play a certain playlist will get to General simply because they played enough games. You'll have mediocre players will have high ranks with a skill of 23. A better idea would be to apply the current overall ranking system to each individual playlist. That way a person who is a Colonel overall will generally have a similar rank in there playlists of choice. But there is a reason that the bungies guys are calling the shots, and I'm reading about it on the internet. We'll see how AU2 goes. Wont stop me from playing.

You either got carried, hostbooted, or got extremely lucky in ranked, and then boosted in social. How can you even talk about earning anything? Or call anyone a noob? Or even pretend to be good? I think your stupidity actually just hurt my head... well i think it is pretty cool but i didnt get the part about rank. So if there is a lvl 50 who started a new game type say SWAT, will he play with some one who just started like some one who never played halo3?(not me by the way) And i have to ask about this boosting stuff. I can't think of a single reason why showing individual ranks in playlists is a good idea. It means that skill and rank will both be showing exactly the same thing - the level that the player has reached on that playlist. I'm fairly mid-ranked and at the moment, when I enter a lobby, I instantly have a very good idea who is going to be better than me, by checking the various ranks. I can see who to avoid, the weaker players I should be attacking, and who is the strongest player on my team who I should be backing up. With the new system, all that will be gone - a general joining a playlist they rarely play will look very weak, unless you open up everyones record one at a time to check. At the moment you can count the stars to have a pretty good idea of which is the stronger team. Beating those players feels like an achievement. That will be gone too. I genuinely cannot see how the new system is a good thing - skill and rank will now be showing exactly the same thing.

It's nice to see that Bungie is to be releasing more AutoUpdates but as many have said, I would like to see new or improved game features. Instead of just releasing new rank systems, why don't you listen to the community like you say you do. I understand. I read the comments you post. That's great that Bungie employees can use the forum they provided to the masses but could you actually give us some visual feedback in the game? I highly doubt the majority of online players actually use this site. If everyone is shouting for something let them have it. It will teach them to learn from their mistakes and soon everyone will understand why you don't want to do as we say. If we are such a community, then let the community speak for ourselves. I want to see more community favorite playlists active for longer periods of time. You say that it is so difficult to switch out the playlists' files but with a game with such an active user usage, you would think the server admins would be more waiting and willing to do such changes. I miss not having playlists, such as Grifball. That is one of those games that gets a party going. Another thing I am wondering about. With these new ranks on the playlist, would it be possible to bring back social doubles? Oh and could someone please get rid of Rat's Nest in SWAT? That's all for now. Love, Josh.

Wow....objective games like Oddball and KOTH in Team Doubles. Worst. Mistake. Ever. I probably will not be playing a lot of team doubles now....might even go to Call of Duty 4 so when I want to play Death Match...I get Death Match and not some crappy objective game that I'm not in the mood for.

I'm hoping whatever it is they are changing (because I struggled to follow it a bit TBH) discourages the morons who are very good from starting up new accounts and wrecking up the skill based matchmaking system.
