I'm excited about those playlist rank things. It's about time, I was beginning to think it would never happen... the number level just isn't enough.

You don't even know how the level system work. In my opinion it's not really broken, it's just exploitable at times. The reason new accounts level so fast is the fact that their an apprentice playing against captains and it "seems" like there doing really good because their new and all. And to the new update once again, no matter how good you do you still need to meet the BASIC REQUIREMENTS to get up to the top...

Can We start banning players with lag switchs, host booting, and all the other Foul Pieces of crap that should not be playing the game if they cant actually play???? Thank you Bungie for all you do to make the gaming community a better place!

Wow lukems, you need a new car... i have no idea what any of the AU2 means. (August 2nd time ?) When i put my H3 disc in... the game will still play, right !? Sweet !!! oh and the graph "playlist progression" is the [b]bom[/b] but you know it's a [b]mod[/b] because none of those displayed ranks is 117 You guys are teh suck ;)

Most people who are able to obtain a 50 don't care if there a lieutenant... the only people who really care about that stuff are the less skilled people... People, people, people! The 'OLD' system will still be here. If i'm not mistaken... You will still need a 50 in a RANKED playlist, and you still will need the exp LIKE NORMAL. Except now each PLAYLIST also has it's own ranking. So you can see that you do better in Team Slayer then you do in Team Doubles. Lukems is here to save the day. Tell em how it is. They are so ignorant that they don't read the full info. You will NOT LOSE your current ranks or exp or ANYTHING. You STILL need a 50 AND 600 exp to become a general. All there is are the playlists having rankings so it can better match people to play against, and so you can track your skills even better. HOW IS THAT SO WRONG GOD!!! ANd becoming a general in a playlist DOESN'T nessecarily mean your a general! YOU STILL NEED 50 SKILL AND 600 EXP. And like the one guy said a bit ago, if you really get up to a general in a ranked playlist, how can you NOT get ranked up alot. You would be playing SIX HUNDRED GAMES IN THERE TOO!!!! (which is a good thing for pregame trash talk) Now your general will show on your service record and in custom games, but theirs won't.

Probably means he either boosted or he would probably have more skill at that playlist than you (unless you played it a lot before the update). It won't show on anything other than in that playlist, and he'll still be able to see that you had a 50 in some playlist if you really want to brag about it.

While on one hand I like he idea of new experience ranks because this gives me a reason to play Halo 3 for much longer. My only complaint would be I want my overall "skill" rank to show, I worked really hard to get it and I don't want some little kid playing rocket race everyday and becoming a General and thinking he is better than me. I don't know I choose not to judge it at the moment until I see it, on the other hand I'm very excited about Legendary Brawl coming back, and the heavy playlists are amazingly fun. (if it won't, why do you care?) and Have you ever called the grade 2-4 bars "noob bars" (if you did, this is your fault.) Very few 50's are actually at their trueskill because of how little they've played ranked, I'm pretty sure that this will work to get people down or up to their actual Truskill and then it'll plant them there pretty solidly. And in social it'll get people playing more social just to get the general rank in all lists. edit: One more question - How many games did it take you to get your 50 on whichever playlist? I don't understand why the system thinks that when you change the name of a screenshot it should also change the maker of it; it shouldn't. If you want to stop the problem with unappropriate screenshots on file shares then get rid of the picture by getting rid of the source and not punishing the kids that don't know any better than to download it. If you keep banning everyone that downloads it and then uploads it to their file share with a different name then you'll be chopping the amount of matchmaking players in half, and I'm sure bungie doesn't want to see that now do they? I would hope not, since they made this new ranking system to make Halo 3 like Call of Duty 4. Great idea there bungie, make it so that the worst, and I mean worst, players on the game are able to eventually play enough games to where they can achieve the general rank. Just like Call of Duty 4 where if you play the game enough you'll eventually make it to the top.

So, basically bungie you're giving all the casual gamers (aka noobs) that cant get past level 35 and are mad cuz they cant get a general the ablility to be something they're not. Congratulations on making a "competitive game", youve already given the "casual" gamers all the things they need to be noobs (bubble shield, regenerator, gravity hammer) but just cuz they lack the skill needed to get to level 50 is no reason to give a level 30 major grade 2 the ability to be a general. The system is fine the way it is, if you arent good enough to get to a level 50 youre not good enough to be a general. Imagine being a level 20 "general"...[/quote] Being a 20 general would take a miracle... or a very persistent person.... 600 wins would probably get you at least a level 35 unless you lose 2 for every game you play.... edit: As of the last halo3.junk.ws update I had 367 team slayer games with 206 wins which is a 56% win rate (close to win one lose one) and I had 45 in it. If you are going to insist on playlist ranks How about displaying both ranks your overall real serivce rank and the playlist ranks that way everyone wins

Yeah soooo..... this update totally blows! I don't give a rats @$$ about what rank I have, The only thing that matters now is the skill that I have, because being a level 10 general doesn't mean -blam!-, It just doesn't make sense. NOBODY CARES ABOUT THE RANKS as in GENERALS, BRIGADIERS, ETC. ETC. except people that suck at this game. GIVE US A FRICKING UPDATE ON THE GAMEPLAY, BR NEEDS TO BE FIX , SNIPER NEEDS TO BE FIXED AS WELL AS THE MELEES. People want the sniper to kill in ONE headshot not 2 lag shots and 1 registered shot making of total of 3 headshots if you cant count, and when I hear the melee punch the other guy it better hurt him like it should because I have a lot of times meleed a guy, heard the sound of my guy punching him and it did nothing!!, then I died. FIX THE HOST CONNECTION TOO. God damn I have NO LAG on Shadowrun what so ever....want to know why?!?!?!? BECAUSE THEY DID THE RIGHT THING BY PICKING WHO EVER HAS THE FASTEST INTERNET SPEED TO BE HOST. I repeat the ...RIGHT.... thing to do. They didn't base it off of "OK this guy has 768k DSL and this guy has 5Mb Cable, we'll pick the DSL guy because its more consistent, screw consistency, faster inconsistent cable does a better job than DSL. I would know, when I host on Gears of War it doesn't lag want to know why??? oh just a little thing I like to call 5Mbps Cable, when my friend hosts, whom by the way has 768k DSL(this is where I got my examples from in the above sentences) its a bit more laggy on his host. Wow I can't wait for the next update. EDIT: Hold on I'm not done yet, I forgot all about the MM playlist, why on earth make Team Doubles objective now? like a person said before "IF I WANTED OBJECTIVE I WOULD GO TO TEAM OBJECTIVE!!!!!!!" and why take MLG Blackout out of MLG, even though Blackout got screwed up I still liked it in the MLG playlist.
