Cheesing=using game mechanics, flipping them on their heads and taking advantage of it. A cheap way to complete an encounter, but not unfair.
Example: Pushing off Templar.
The AI was designed to walk away from AoE effects, therefore cheesing can't be compared to cheating(as some people seem to not understand).
------------------------------
Cheating=taking matters into your own hands to get an unfair advantage
Example: The kid who got his characters deleted.
Now I hope people understand that the "you have cheesed Templar and Atheon before, so why should the kid get banned but not you" argument is based on very thin air and would not convince any smart person(sadly there are alot of dumb people on here)
Thank you for taking your time, and may the RNG gods bless you with all the horrible DLC exotic gear except for Obsidian Mind.
EDIT, ATTENTION HERE BECAUSE SOME PEOPLE CANT UNDERSTAND: Mate. Let me tell you a story. I did not make the post to post some examples of cheating and cheesing. I made the post to explain differences between the two. I didn't make this post to prove the people on the kids side wrong. I used the kids situation as an example.
There is alot of confusion between the difference of the two and I'm trying to clear that confusion.

Cheating = gaining an unfair advantage through outside means (hacking, modding, etc.) Cheesing = Abusing existing game mechanics (pushing the Templar, making enemies despawn on the bridge, etc.)
