The main reason is lag, for me anyway. I don't see why i should keep playing, when players on the other team are rubberbanding, absorbing point blank shotgun blasts, charging fusion rifles in less than a second, surviving grenade sticks, not see showing up on the radar, teleporting, I can keep going. That is neither fun or competitive. That is why I quit, not because I'm grumpy about losing, and I'd wager that's why a lot of other people quit too.

I find that I'm not dealing with too many lag issues in Iron Banner. It's probably because of the condensed population (i.e. there's only one playlist, so I hope you like Control) but I find that that component of matchmaking isn't usually too terrible for me. Maybe 1 game in 10 I run into a match with a whole bunch of red bars, but normally it's mostly greens with one or two yellows.

Then you're one of the lucky few, there's actually a post on how bad the lag is in Iron Banner.

Yeah, I see a lot of people posting about it. Don't get me wrong, I believe them, I just haven't had that many problems myself. (I do have great upload/download speeds, so maybe I'm just lucky.) The DLC playlists give me a lot of trouble though--matchmaking takes forever--they seem to be laggier. Probably a smaller pool? Anyway, it sucks when Crucible is lagging hard.
