Summary at bottom!
As you probably know, this video is about a man under the name KirmitTHEfrog who deleted two high level characters and Plan C belonging to a kid named CuckooknightHD. Basically Kirmit told Cuckooknight he knew a glitch to level a character past 20 (I'm guessing base level, not light levels) and that he could do it if Cuckooknight gave him permission through PSN's Share Play feature (this let Kirmit play on Cuckooknight's account). Upon gaining authority, Kirmit deleted a level 31 warlock (Cuckooknight's main) who had Obsidian Mind and Hawkmoon exotics (likely others too) and a level 26 titan (no confirmed exotics), then proceeded to log on to his final character and delete the only exotic on the character - Plan C.
Now a great number of you think that the kid was at fault (which he was to an extent) and therefore Kirmit did nothing wrong (this is absolutely stupid!). Some people are absolutely horrendous and call Kirmit a legend and wish to reward Kirmit! A common rationalization for this is they say "The kid tried to cheat, he got what he deserved." Although I am not saying he was blameless, as he was accepting the invitation to cheat, the kid did not search for this guy to level past 20. Kirmit brought the idea up! If you watch starting at 10:20 you will see he says this:
(I add "..." when Cuckoo is not talking because Kirmit is talking to him. We cannot actually hear Kirmit's voice.)
Oh, oh okay hi, um, I'm streaming right now actually. Um... On Twitch yeah... Huh?... Uh, what glitch?... Oh, um I have reached level 20 already... How? Like uh I don't I need what (He says this next word so quick and quiet I can't understand it)?... Oh okay here I'll, I'll promote you to leader. (Promotes to fireteam leader)... Um no... Well, I mean yeah in the party... Okay... okay... Party... Share Play.
So here you can see, Cuckoo does not initially want Kirmit to glitch his character for him, but in fact Kirmit brings it all up. Kirmit (seems*) to ask if Cuckoo knows how to get to level 20. Cuckoo says "Oh, um I have reached level 20 already". Kirmit says something along the lines of: No, no I mean past base level 20, which is responded to with "How? Like uh I don't I need what?". He says: I can do it for you if you give me your controls. Cuckoo promotes him to leader only to be told: Did you give me it? Cuckoo says "Um no... Well, I mean yeah in the party." to which Kirmit says: No I mean over Share Play. From there Kirmit gets exactly what he wants and Cuckoo gives him access to the account. By no means does Cuckoo look for someone to glitch it for him, he just talks to his friend and is told this.
Also, to those of you who think Kirmit was a total stranger? Kirmit was not! If you listen to Cuckoo right before he starts talking to Kirmit, he says the words::
Kay, um, I'm gonna go ahead and unplug the mic so I can talk to my friend so yeah.
Also at the timestamp 15:02 you can see Kirmit is on Cuckoo's friend list. Kirmit is not a total stranger, He is a new internet friend Cuckoo recently made. Also when you look at how Cuckoo handled all this information, you will see he did it very well! At the timestamp 15:47 Cuckoo joins Kirmit's chat party and says:
Kirmit?... Thank you, I didn't really want that weapon, I just didn't have the, that Plan C. Didn't really want that weapon anyways too so... Thank you I didn't have the confidence to dismantle it so... Thank you so much.
This really amazes me! I personally love Plan C (second exotic ever!) so if I was in this kid's place, I would really be frustrated about Plan C alone! I would have given Kirmit exactly the reaction he wanted, but this kid keeps his cool and thanks Kirmit for dismantling it for him! Although it is pretty obvious that he was lying and that he liked his Plan C, he didn't give in to his emotions and stayed calm for a long period of time! He just lost a huge chunk of progress in the game, and even though he is 11 years old he gave a very mature response! He also showed this maturity again in the comment section of this YouTube video. In a comment on his separate YouTube account (not really sure why this is posted on his parent's account - maybe he didn't want this up but his mom put it up anyway to spread attention) saying:
Hay guys my name is actually Henry, I am currently 11 years old and just got a ps4 for Christmas I legitamitly ranked up my warlock to level 31, some of you are haters but some of you are supporting me, I accept both.i indeed was trying to cheat but he convinced me into doing it right before the video started, he currently has a YouTube and does this everyday... I accept the fact that I got 'rekt' not so many people are supporting me so I kind of feel discouraged do can you please leave out the hurtful comments I tried to cheat yea I deserve it, but it doesn't mean you have to say mean things about me... Thank you for your time
Again Henry is very respectful with others (even the people he knows talk badly about him) and explains everything pretty clearly. He does not deny that he was in the wrong but he agrees he tried to cheat. He tells that he has learned his lesson and asks that he doesn't get ripped to shreds by hateful comments. He has much more maturity than the people on the forums who constantly yak about OP weapons and whine about the horrible weapons Xur is selling! I am sure that not all these people making these posts are not young children (just because of the sheer number of them - that and the language they know :3)
I believe Henry should actually be an example of maturity and respect for all of us to look at. I do not care about his age or how he was trusting, but I do care about how he was taken advantage of and I like how he has responded so everything so well too! Show this kid some love, just as he has to you.

Edit 1: Minor spelling changes.
Edit 2: Summary: Kirmit suggested the fake cheat, Kirmit was a PSN friend (not absolute stranger), Cuckoo was smart and didn't flame at Kirmit, and Cuckoo responded to hate on YouTube well.
Ultimately, if Henry never met Kirmit, he would never have tried to cheat, making him not a dirty little cheater.

6 RepliesAfter sifting through this forum and it's mountain of trash I stumbled upon your post regarding this topic. Thank you for actually looking at this objectively and fairly unlike so many other people here. This kid was clearly manipulated. Did he make a rather large mistake when he gave Kermit the controller? Absolutely. Did he deserve what happened to him? No. To all the jackasses that are basically saying "Good! Little cheater deserved it!"... really? This. Person. Is. A. Child. He's still in elementary school. Kids will be kids. He's guilty of being a child, nothing more. People are entitled to their opinions. I get that. They're entitled to express their opinions. I get that also. My only thought there is thank God that there are people willing to help him out that are (in my mind) better people than the ones leaving all their hate on this forum. And if he does receive a certain exotic pulse rifle, so what? It's not like anything in this game is earned anyway. Just my opinion. On a closing note here, I'd like to leave an analogy. Now most analogies are a bit extreme when compared to the original occurrence to which they are directly related to prove a point. That being said, if you see a kid crossing a street without using the crosswalk do you aim your car at them? Maybe get out after and say,"If you weren't so stupid and followed the rules maybe you'd still be ok ya little jaywalker??" Sickening.

1 ReplyThank you for the break down. I know there will still be people that will hold on to the idea of "he deserved it for wanting to cheat" because they don't take the time to analyze the situation like you did. I hope Bungie sees this and understands what really went on!

1 ReplyIt clearly states 'Allow the player to play as you'. What does playing as you include in the game of destiny? Being able to delete not only items and equipment but also your characters. The biggest problem is I bet the kid doesn't even feel that it is his fault. Go on keep enabling the little f*cker.

what a waste of time. stfu

4 RepliesEdited by DetoxzStylez: 2/22/2015 1:28:12 AMI wish there was trading in destiny.

5 RepliesDidn't even bothered reading all of it. You could have saved yourself some time and just referenced the legal term of 'entrapment'; which seems to be the point your making in your last conclusion paragraph.

Thank you someone knows the full story

This here is a well explained case of truth, and in response to all the haters using "he whas trying to cheat" as a stupid excuse and reason. I give you this: everyone cheesed aetheon, cheesed crota, and many more. And im sure that many other games have been cheated before by all the players (GTA for example). Cheating whas there already since the dawn of the ps1. Now i dont like cheating, and i dont support it. But everyone is being hypocrit about cheating, he who is without sin may throw the first stone! Not trying to be biblical, but this saying sums it all up. KirmitTHEfrog is a D.I.C.K.wad! Period. The actions that got manipulated where from an 11 year old kid.

1 ReplyWhy is this still a thing?

3 Repliesare you like a Judge or Lawyer/ Attorney or something? only someone in the Legal Industry would bother looking this far into such a small situation.

4 RepliesHe's a cheater nice try

Edited by OG Thrall: 2/22/2015 12:45:56 AMLet's face it, everyone here who is against OP and Henry is just mad that they don't have the Fate of All Fools. Get a -blam!- grip, y'all are shedding crocodile (some maybe real) tears over a gun that only a surgery survivor and an 11 year old have ? sad. Cuckoo deserves that gun.

1 ReplyThe kids mom probably made that comment.
-
2 RepliesLol at that logic.

Thank you for posting this. I have been on the side of "cheaters never prosper" since this came out, but reading the boys response changed my mind. He straight owned up to trying to cheat, said he deserved what happened to him, and just asked people to stop being so mean. You couldn't ask for a much better response from a child in his position, especially with the ludicrous level of national attention. I now support whatever help he gets to recover his levels, primarily because he hasn't asked people to feel sorry for him.

2 RepliesHonestly that is the stupidest -blam!-ing feature I've ever witnessed... Great job PS!

I find this whole situation hilarious

Best way to deal with this all- Submit a PSN grief report on KirmitTheFrog Done

7 RepliesYeah, whatever... the little -blam!-tard is cheesing Crota now thanks to some equally shitty benefactors that sympathize with the crybaby.
-
1 ReplyAnyone mentioning this fake cry for attention bullshit is getting muted now. This isnt what the forums are supposed to be.
-
4 RepliesIt doesn't matter. He still tried to cheat
-
2 RepliesI don't get people who bash the kid and defend KirmitTHEfrog. If anything like this happened to anyone on these forums they would be calling for Kirmit's head. What the kid did was dumb, but what the guy did is inexcusable and he should be punished.
