It's not so much them being a kid or them wanting to cheat that makes me unsympathetic. It's the general willingness they displayed to hand control over to a known troller/someone that their friend knew and assumed having played with them, that they are ok. Yes OP learned their lesson the hard way, but saying have compassion because they are a "kid" doesn't really cut it as they willingly let someone take control and didn't turn Shareplay off as it was happening. I feel bad for them but not to the same point that others have had characters deleted due to actual bugs and glitches.

  • Why do people need motivation to feel sympathy? This kid had two characters that he worked very hard on taken away from him for no good reason. He also took the high road after this asshole did this and didn't berate him in retaliation. I think he showed very mature poise for such a young guy. Forget his motivations for a minute and all the other minutia. He had something stolen from him. That's all you need to know. The perpetrators are low life scum.

  • Kinda feel like you're missing the gist of what I'm saying. It has nothing to do with being a kid. Age doesn't matter. Being a kid doesn't mean you have to be gullible or more so compared to someone that's, let's say, 22. Them being a kid just means they are more likely/generally implied to be more naive. They gave someone control. Yeah, what the person did is shitty yet that doesn't change that the kid willing trusted them even though they were a mutual.

YES BEING A KID HAS SOMETHING TO WITH IT. "He's just more inclined to be naive." Thats all the more reason to feel bad for the guy. He did not know any better. You can have an IQ of 2000 and if you haven't been to school and learned things you won't gain knowledge. A kid has not had the chance to learn that the world sucks. And then when someone takes advantage of that, it's wrong. It's not the kids fault.

  • A kid doesn't have to learn for his/herself and experience something first hand to learn a lesson/know the world is cruel. More inclined does not mean they have to be, regardless of experiences. Most if not all at some point were told not to talk to strangers, to go somewhere with a stranger, etc. This falls into the "things to not do with strangers" category.

  • A kids brain is not developed enough to understand the concept of Internet strangers screwing him over or "resisting giving into the naive" , if you will

  • More like "yeah the kid gave some stranger control" (most likely because he was duped into doing so as a naive child, God forbid) but that doesn't change the shitty act these morons took part in.

  • I know what you're saying, but reading some of the replies from this forum, it looks like he was in a clan with one of the players. I'm thinking he trusted his friend that he was in a clan with and was back stabbed. Idk. Some kids are really naive, which IMO is part of being a kid. I'm sure he's been told about all the bad people in the world, but just like most kids/people, you have to experience it first hand for it really to sink in and understand that there are shitty people in the world. The kid could of been smarter, but we don't know the full story. People make mistakes. No one deserves that though, no matter what way you look at it

  • True true. Unfortunately though, with the known info based on the YT comments, one would assume they aren't that naive as they have a YT and stream as well. I barely let people I've known and played with for 3yrs have access to my account without a back up plan.

  • I met a guy back in halo reach one of my best friends in the world haven't even met the guy in real life, but I completely trust him. If he stabbed my in the back I would feel terrible because we are such close friends, but I know he wouldn't do that. I know this because I have his account info as well and his other information just lie he has mine. But take for example that this kid felt that he could trust this guy so he gave him account control he thought it was his friend but it wasn't, and that is what makes me feel bad for the kid.

  • Actually, it wasn't his friend that did it. It was his friend's mutual/clan mate. Yes, I'd be pissed off if a friend if mine backstabbed me but I'm a bit iffy on trusting a friend's friend based on a few encounters I've had with them.

  • Yeah I understand you bro, but the guy I'm talking about is one of my beat friends we buy each other games do it wouldn't make sense to steal each others stuff. Anyways that was how I felt about it.

  • Bro anyone can stream. Just because you stream doesn't mean you are less naive. In fact it means you are more susceptible to being duped.

  • Unless streaming is as simple as hitting a button without having/needing an account and such setup, that would mean either the parent helped with that or they did it, with or without a guide. The latter means they have/would have enough common sense to look something up if they don't understand it. Which, you'd think, would have enough common sense to stop and at the very least think "could i get banned for this" not just "can i trust this person entirely".

  • Dude, you're stretching the argument to fit your ridiculous point of view. An injustice was done here. Regardless of what you think about how it was able to happen, the point is simple - it happened and it should never happen. The kid learned a lesson. He will never get those characters back. These assholes need to learn a lesson too.

  • There is nothing to stretch. Kid trusted someone they barely knew on the word of a friend. Kid figured out the hard way that's not something you did. Is Kirmit an asshole for it? Yes, absolutely. Is it something that one should be perma banned over? Now that's pushing it nor does it change anything or stop them from continuing under a new account.

  • There's not much more to say. You couldn't be more wrong on this issue, so it's a good thing you don't matter. The loud majority will win on this.

  • So you believe in perma banning people for being assholes/trolls? Gotcha. A majority so far have said "lesson learned", give the person some form of punishment yet banning isn't it. What would a ban do? They could make a new account and continue what they're doing. Ban the console? Sony doesn't have a reason to interfere as they is specifically about one game the events took place. Bungie doesn't even restore things lost by their bugs and probably could care less as it's not a modded console connecting to their servers. Second, are you going to ignore that the kid was trying to glitch? Glitching isn't the same thing as cheesing and the only cheese that comes close to glitching was the Crota constantly kneeling. All the other cheeses were and are piss poor design flaws/coding.

  • What form of punishment is good enough? I think a banning from destiny is a good punishment. Or, at the very least the deletion of all of their characters. This goes beyond trolling. This is downright evil. The kid is a kid. He was duped - the guy gave him a song and a dance about being able to help him out really quick. What does the kid know? Do you remember what it was like to be 12? I barely do. But I could easily see being duped. I have a 7 year old who is as sweet as can be, has autism, loves to game and loves to share experiences with others. Not saying I don't monitor what he does, but he aspires to stream one day. He loves watching people play minecraft. He wants to do that. If I happen to step in the other room because something comes up and some ahole were to pull a similar stunt on my kid, you can be damn sure I would be on here taking action. There is no reason to ignore the action of the asshole just because the kid was doing something wrong also. Two wrongs don't make it ok.

  • Yes, I can agree with the deleting of their characters but banning felt/feels like too much. I do remember what it was like to be 12 and while I do remember being naive, I remember learning from my mistakes.

Banning the Ahole that did this to an 11yr old kid isn't too much, what he did is a bannable offense.
3. He also apparently has 2 accounts, 1 he does this with and 1 he actually plays. He is a POS waste of life if this is how he gets his jollies. Karma is a biotch, hope he gets his!

  • Said it once and I'll say it again. Banning one would mean you'd have to acknowledge the kid was trying to glitch which is bannable as well.

  • No because there was NO ACTUAL GLITCH OR CHEATING by the kid. He was talked into it before the video but IT NEVER HAPPENED. He agreed to the SharePlay and then KermitTHEfrog deleted 2 of his characters. There was no glitch to level up his characters. This Ahole has done this before and actually posts videos on YouTube, so there is more proof than just this once. The kid didn't do anything bannable.
