Cortana and Gravemind's conversation
so at the end of the game (after the credits I believe.. its been since release week since I've played much campaign).. Cortana and Gravemind have a little dialouge:
Gravemind: Silence fills the empty grave, now that I have gone. But my mind is not at rest, for questions linger on. I will ask, and you will answer.
Cortana: Alright. Shoot.
What is it that Gravemind wants to know and why is Cortana so happy to inform him?

yeah, Gravemind and the flood being as "intelligent" as they were really suprised me in Halo 2... but thanks for the input guys.. oh and "bump" ;-)

She is trying her best to delay whatever it is gravemind is doing. We already know that gravemind and all of the flood are smart enough to repair space ships and control monitors (2401 penitent tangent). She knows that if she refuses to go easy he will mearly extort what he needs and go. But if it seems like she is cooperating then he will not need to waste that effort and will mearly just accept what she tells him wich will allow her to confuse or give info in a delaying manner or even hide certain things. But also as gravemind and the flood together only arrose out of there sleep resently they would look for any info of what happened after the halos were last activated.

Basically what I got out of it was Cortana is stuck there with Gravemind and since they are the only ones there she seems to be eager to respond. But I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the book when she was fighting with the Alien AI and kinda "lost" some of her code and wants to learn some of the past as well......... thanks dude you just confused me while I tryed to explain it to you...
