How to play Control for morons
I've seen a ton of idiotic posts about control recently, and I want to clear some things up & help the noobs/uninformed.
1. Kills matter. Yes, the flags give you multipliers, but they don't matter as much as kills. Please stop throwing yourself at B twenty times whistle not getting a kill. Even if you cap it, you were hurting your team severely.
2. Flags don't influence spawns [i]at all.[/i]
3. If you have the better spawn (changed wording due to confusion...) on the map, please don't rush the other team's [b][i][u]spawn[/u][/i][/b]. The spawns will flip, and your team will be annihilated. Sure you can "play your way because you bought the game and have every right to do what you want, America, yadda yadda", but if you disregard your [i]team[/i], you'll have a few people frustrated with you and you'll probably take an L.
4. KD does matter. Simple as that. If you go 1-30 and have 5 flag captures, and a different player goes 25-30 with zero captures, then hypothetical zero capture guy contributed WAY more than you did.
EDIT: Heavy ammo - Wait for at least 3 teammates before you pick up heavy ammo. UNLESS your radar starts light up. Then pick it up ASAP. Also, if you have a super around the time heavy is going to spawn (9 mins, 6 mins) save your super to combat the other team's heavy. If you do this, stand away from your team's heavy when someone pulls it. It'll be waiting on the ground for you when you're done killing bad guys with your super. I'd also advise to wait to pick up heavy if you use an LMG. Wait a minute or so while everyone trades each other out with rockets. Otherwise you'll be turned to ash before you can fire a single shot.
Even if you don't care about winning because you're "just there to have fun", please realize that everyone else is there to have fun as well. And i'm sure you have people on your team, like myself, that have a hell of a lot more fun winning instead losing.
EDIT 2: Check the stats of the people saying "I'll play how I want"... I'm not trying to force anyone to play a different way. Trying to give advice.

Your number two point is invalid. Points "A" and "C" are the spawn points. If you cap both spawns will continously flip. Better to have flag closests to "B". Just helping out

More posts like this needed. Every single game me and my friend are the only guys with positive KD. And it seems hard to comprehend that two bases is better than one for the masses. People amaze me

23 Replies1. Don't use icebreaker in the crucible, it just screams "I don't have any better exotic to I just equipped this!" 2. Fusion rifles take more skill than shotguns. (I used to be a proficient shotgun user before I switched to fusion) Shotguns- run up to an enemy and shoot and melee for good measure Fusion- determine where the target is moving. Charge beforehand to maximize kill chances (make sure you didn't press it too early or too late) match up the targets belly and chest area with the sights, and it should* be a kill. Fusion takes more skill and that's not a bad thing for shotgun users, but it's time everyone just accept the truth 3. People with thorn deserve for it to be as good as it is. It's perfectly okay the way it is 4. The last word takes skill to use, thing kicks like a mule and you have to reload after every kill 5. You cannot justify using a heavy for an exotic slot (ie. Gally, thunder lord, truth) except with the statement "I don't have good exotic primaries or secondaries, which at level 28+ makes me a noob" I'm sorry but you can't tell me your using gally if you have: Thorn The last word Vex Suros Hawkmoon Plan C Patience and time Pocket infinity And that's just a few. Seriously just buy the next gun xur brings that's not No land beyond 6. No super is OP, they are all balanced. Even the dreaded blade dancer is perfectly fine. It takes skill to find an unsuspecting group of hostiles and activate your super out of sight and dispatch them before they know what's going on. I think the striker needs to be tweaked to where if I jump it shouldn't affect me but it is fine the way it is. 7. The crucible is balanced, you just suck 8. I consider myself a hybrid player meaning I enjoy both PvE and PvP. But PvE players get the tampon outta your butt and learn how to do the crucible. It's the only way your going to get better. You aren't good at it because you can't adapt. Other crucible players are humans, not programs. They are unpredictable and want your head. So stop please PvP players stop crying nerf and I know it's not all of them just the bad ones. If you noticed only the bad crucible players with a 1.00KD cry nerf like shut up 9.My favorite... Wait for it.... Vex mythoclast is a.... Crutch! It's a bloody crutch! They should rename it "The Golden Crutch" Reader:"This guy is just mad because he gets killed by it a lot" While it is annoying, it stands little to no chance against thorn or the last word or even a good fusion rifle to the face Reader:"He's mad because he's been hard mode raiding 21 times and hasn't gotten it yet" You would be incorrect sir I got it my First<- try. Lucky? I know right? Unfortunately RNGsus hasn't blessed me too many more times after that. Reader:"Then why is he bitching???" Because it's a crutch. I used it before, and stopped bout a month ago out of respect for myself and other players. I'm a good, I'm an above average crucible player and need no such crutch. Am I saying you shouldn't use it? No, only people confident in there own abilities and/or have respect for himself and others would stop using it. However when I see someone with it in the crucible, I know they need a crutch and am delighted to make there KD even worse These aren't tips as much as they are facts about the crucible. Towards the Heavy Ammo Point....Screw That.....I'm tired of waiting for other teammates to figure out that Heavy Ammo has spawned and then Die while waiting....If you are not paying enough frekin attention to the battle at hand that you don't know Heavy Ammo is on the way and are there already then FU!!! If you hear heavy ammo on the way..get to the frekin heavy ammo place...you need kills, team needs kills, get there...Heavy Ammo brings kills......if not blow Crota

Edited by D3oVol3nt3: 2/18/2015 2:19:55 AMPretty accurate but it depends on which class your running if your going to save supers for heavy, like blade dancer can die easy(hopefully you don't pick up the heavy during this too if they focus you down), radiants and bubble are also really bad during heavy ammo drops. Golden gun can be amazing but you can get a rocket to the face before you get a shot off.

2 RepliesYou should add to push for B in the beginning. And either hold A and B or C and B. Trying to hold A and C gives the other team a huge advantage by splitting up your team.

4 Repliesthis post is stupid for 2 reasons. Flag captures DO influence spawn points...and controlling two zones gives you 200+ per kill as opposed to 100...so if you only have 1 zone you will lose even if youre wiping the enemy at a 2-1 ratio...

And here I was thinking I was decent at control. However, since everything I do in that game mode is completely the opposite of what you suggested, I guess I was kidding myself to an ungodly extent. Thank you in advance for pointing me in the right direction.
